Love is forgiveness. Forgiveness is love. This is the first fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is putting aside every hurt and every pain of the past, so we are ready to rush to the one we love with open arms and to rejoice with them. Do not store wrongs away in your heart. Let love carry them away.
Love is justice. Justice is love. This is the second fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is doing what ought to be done to others, so that our conscience can be unblemished in the company of those we love. If you are doing wrong to another, then the remedy is simple: stop doing wrong.
Love is patience. Patience is love. This is the third fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is abiding peacefully even when things hurt, waiting for what must be done in our lives and in the lives of those we love. Remember always that no matter how much time it takes, love makes waiting worth it.
Love is persistence. Persistence is love. This is the fourth fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is persevering faithfully against dark moments of the night for the ones that we love, so you are at the ready when you are needed. Fight on until the dawn when all will be made right in the name of love.
Love is hope. Hope is love. This is the fifth fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is keeping the fire of hope ablaze in your heart for the ones that you love, so that your hope can be a comfort through their night. Hope always for tomorrow. Do not be afraid, for so long as you love, so too can you hope.
Love is the Word. The Word is love. This is the ultimate fundamental.
If love means anything at all, it is trusting in Him, because in Him all things have their beginning and their completion. He is hope. He is persistence. He is patience. He is justice. He is forgiveness. From Him all these things flow, because He is love.
