~Steve or Bucky ~ Perpetuity

Start from the beginning

"Some people say that a sunrise is a miracle, because it is somewhat mysterious and often very beautiful, but other people say it is simply a fact of life, because it happens every day, and far too early in the morning."

History is home to 4 kinds of people: those that make it, those that experience it, those that manipulate it, and those that learn about it afterwards. They say that history is written by the victors, but they would be wrong. Rarely is history written by the victors, instead it is written by those that have a stake in controlling the future: the immortals.

Steve Rogers was pulled from the ice and found to be alive; he had missed almost a century of history. SHIELD couldn't have an ignorant superhero, so they scoured the world to find the best historian to catch Steve up. Little did they know that the woman who fit the bill would do so much more than teach Steve the history he had missed out on.

Annistyn Wells considered herself to portray the image of a normal History professor, so you can imagine her shock when a shadowy government agency demands her help with a secret project. Annistyn's initial fear of being discovered as an Old immortal is unfounded, because she is simply needed for her historical knowledge and not her inability to die. Who was she to know that teaching Captain America about the years he missed out on would lead to something so much more than anything she had experienced before?

Immortality, freeze dried heroes, and world-ending villains, what is the universe coming to?

"I would not wish any companion in the world but you."

Quotes

1-"You have the survival instincts of a squirrel on crack cocaine!"

"So what? If I die I'll just come right back to life. No muss, no fuss."

2-"Since it seems like my life does not not have a middle or an end, I've decided to have an ongoing crisis instead of a midlife crisis."

3-"I don't get paid enough for this."

"You get paid for being immortal? Who pays you?"

"No, that's not was I was talking about. I meant I don't get paid enough to grade these essays. I was talking about my job, not my not staying dead situation."

"Oh, that make more sense."

4-"We're a dying breed. One day there will be only one of us left, and then what will happen? We are the keepers of history and the puppet masters of the future; they won't be able to avoid previous mistakes without our records and our subtle manipulations."

"Oh Silas, you're forgetting that we were once exactly like them, with our clocks ticking away and our memories fleeting. The only quality that we have over them is our immortality, and even that can be taken away by one of our own. We are not gods, we are not the fates, we are not the secret rulers of the human race."

"You're too blinded by your love for one of them. You know his life doesn't hold a candle to yours."

"It shouldn't matter. Every life is important, even the horrible ones."

5-"Making an immortal is difficult, but not impossible."

"Does this mean what I think it does?"
