Hinata POV

----8am Hyuga Residence----

For the past 10 years my family participates in the annual Business Masquerade Ball. And my cousin Neji told me it was only going to be the two of us joining in this years event, since mom and dad have an important matter to attend to.

What could possibly be more important than serving at the yearly Masquerade ball?

I'm in deep thought while I am walking over to my dad's office. I need to hear it from him myself.

My cousin Neji is two years older than me, he has been living with us since he was 5 years old in our medium size home in Tokyo Japan. His parents were ill and passed away when Neji was five and since foster care was never an option, my father took him in as his own. I see him as a brother and always call him brother since we have gone through so much together.

Since the day my dad started the Catering Business, there were many failures that led to financial struggle. But I never saw my dad ask others for financial help, he always found a way to make things work.

Hiashi Hyuga, my dad, and Anabi Hyuga, my mom, have been hosting several of the catering services for different large businesses in Tokyo. My dad take pride in his planning of formal events since most of his catering items are gourmet foods and healthier options of snacks, which tends to cater towards the upper class businessmen and women.

"Come in"

"Hello Father, do you have a moment?" I walk inside his clean office and close the door behind me.

"Are you ready for the Masquerade Ball, there will be over 10,000 people, the most we have ever catered too." My dad smiles like he is proud of his accomplishments. And he should be, he worked hard to get to this point.

"Yes. But I came by to ask you something first."

"well quickly ask me, I have an important matter to attend to, and I'm leaving soon."

"Is it true you are leaving Neji and I to mange the catering for tonight's event?"

"Well, yes. I think it's time for you to step it up in this business. You are 19 now and one day you can own this catering business that we worked hard to build as a family"

If I'm truly honest with myself, it's never been my life long dream to own a catering business, but then again, I don't know how to say no to my father.

"so, it is true. Ok well then we will do our best. See you when you get back." I head out of the office, now I'm feeling nervous.

I don't like to argue with my father, so I accept this new challenge. And after all my father has done for Neji and I, I don't dare question him.

Because of him Neji and I were able to graduate from a prestigious University all expenses paid.

Of course...under one condition.

We work the catering business. And that's where we are today.

---7pm Masquerade Ball---

A few days ago I picked out a beautiful dress that I found for cheap at a department store and It matches my favorite mask I wear every year. I made sure to bring it with me to the event, just in case. I know I'm not supposed to leave my post, since I am technically working.

But... when there is down time and the attendees are starting to whine down, then it will be my turn to dress up and feel special. I do it every year, today is no different.
