(Today is your 10th birthday(western age), your in 4th grade, you go to a normal primary school and your talking to your friends after school)

You check your watch at your wrist and read the time
Y/n: ok guys I should leave now. Bye *you waved at your friends*
Your friends: ok bye y/n! *they waved back at you*
You went out the school gate and walked towards your home

You live near by and your parents trust you to walk on your on.
Your were smiling and thinking
of what they got you for your birthday

Your family was never that poor but we were lower than middle class
Your parents tried there best to get you whatever you wanted but you didn't push them about it because you understand that your parents worked a lot for you.

You got to your apartment building and opened the door, you only saw your mom. Your dad was supposed to be off work today for your birthday. You thought maybe he went to get the cake? You went in to find you mom on the dining table head hung low, hand gripping her head out of frustration and you heard sobs coming out her mouth. You were confused

Y/n: mama? What's wrong? And where is dad?
She looked up with her showing sadness and softness
Your mom: your dad left us.. for his- his... other family

Your mom: h-he *the door opened revealing the landlady*

Landlady: you haven't yet payed for your rent yet so I came to remind yo- what's wrong?
Your mom got up and told you to go in your room
But you were too curious and wanted to know what they were talking about.
Your mom: dong suk (your dad's name) dong suk he (she couldn't hold her tears)
Land lady: there there hei ran (your mom's name) now tell me what's wrong
Your mom: He left us for this women he had a 2 year old son with, he said that he loved her more and left us.

H-how could he do this to us?
You now had tears in your eyes you understood what was going on.
Your mom: we don't have any money to pay
h-he toke his card and mine doesn't even have enough to pay rent.
And I couldn't stop him. (Your mother couldn't stop crying)

Landlady: don't worry I'll help you find a job
Your mom: we don't have any money how are we gonna eat?
How are we gonna have a roof under our heads? How are we gonna live? And who is going to give me job that pays well I never went to college or high school . Part time jobs won't be enough for us to live with.

Landlady: my friend once said how the Min family is always looking for live in maids.
They give you a small place to live and give you food as well, you just have to work as a maid like cook, clean, go the laundry and help them out. You get paid but not so much but I think it's a good choice since they give you food and a place to live. You don't really need any degree for that you know how to do all those things

Your mom thought for a sec but then she soon agreed
Your mom: I will do it... I think it's for the best I don't want y/n and me to go homeless and starve. I still want her to get an education and live a better life.

Landlady: yes, I will tell you where the Min's live tomorrow and I'm certain that you will get a job. Don't rush your selves and live here as long as you want.
Your mom: thank you, you have really save our lives I can't thank you enough.
Landlady: don't worry this is the least I could to after what happened to you I can't believe dong suk would do that

You went in your room
You still couldn't believe your father did that, the father who you loved and the father that loved you to-

Even though you were young you understood everything. You had a new found hatred in you for HIM. For you he was no longer your dad. He was no longer the dad you loved and cherished. He left you and your mother for the woman he loved and his son that he loved.

Your mom entered the room
Your mom: hey sweetie
Y/n: hi mama
Your mom: don't worry honey even though papa left us I will still find a job and you will still be able to go to school and live a better life. Sorry it's such a bad birthday
Y/n: don't worry your all I need mama
You both drifted off to sleep after all the crying.
