A Vex Problem

Chapter 8 -Classes Start Part 2-

"Bravo! Braa-vo! It appears we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training, I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today, be sure to cover the assigned readings and stay vigilant, Mystogen please stay after class as well, calls dismissed," Port said.

Weiss walked out of the classroom.

"Sheesh what's with her?" Jaune said.

Mystogen's POV

Me and professor Port were on a balcony talking about what I had done earlier, he took this conversation to here for the reason of he wanted to watch the sunset. That confused me but I didn't object against it, while being lectured Weiss had approached us.

"Professor Port," Weiss said, Port and I turned to her.

"Ah, Miss. Schnee and what do I owe this fine pleasure?" Port asked

"I-I enjoyed your lecture," Weiss said.

'I don't know how but ok,' I thought.

"Of course you did child, you have the blood of a true huntress in you," Port said.

Weiss smiled, "You really think so?"

"Most surely," Port responded, I noticed Weiss' small frown and lack of eye contact and it looked like Port did as well, "Hmm... Something's troubling you?"

"Yes, sir," Weiss said.

"Dear girl, confess to me your strife!" Port said.

"Well, I-I think I should've been the leader of team RWBY," Weiss said.

There was a brief moment of silence until port said, "That preposterous,"

"Gotta agree with Port here," I said.

"Excuse me!?" She said angrily.

"I've believed in Professor Ozpin for many years, and the man's never led me astray," Port said.

"So you would just blindly accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?" Weiss asked.

"With all due respect your exceptional skill on the battlefield is matched only by your poor attitude," Port said bluntly.

"How dare you!" Weiss said seething.

"His point exactly," I said which I got a cold stare, "Who I see in front of me is someone who got everything they wanted,"

"That's not even remotely true," Weiss said.

"Are you sure Miss. Schnee?" Port asked.

"Well, not entirely true," Weiss said.

"Here what I learned from what I've seen in the past Weiss, you didn't get the position as leader so what? No one shouldn't act like this and think the person who made them leader in the first place would reconsider their decision. Here's something to go by, the wolf behind the pack is as important as the leader in the front, instead of complaining about what you don't have, use what you do have," I said looking at Weiss.

"Hone your skill, perfect every technique, and be not the leader, but the best person you can be," Port finished.

Weiss smiled and walked away.

"You did well the Mystogen, spoke like a true Huntsman," Port said.

"Well learned from the best where I come from," I said, referring to the Speaker.

After that, I went to the dorm to change and grab my gear for the next night of searching for the Vex, last night we covered and pinpointed locations that could serve as a holding ground for their vault. When I git out I of the room with my gear I see Weiss staring at me.

"Now where are you going?" Weiss asked.

"Aren't you supposed to be in bed?" I asked trying to change the subject.

"Don't change the subject Mystogen, now where are you going?" She asked again.

"Look, not to sound rude but it's none of your business so please just get in before we both get caught," I said.

She looked at me for a moment, "I guess you're right but don't stay out too late,"

"Thanks for the advice mom," I said sarcastically.

She walked into the dorm and I started to walk towards the exit heading back to the Emerald Forest. I let out a quiet sigh and walked into the forest.

"So do you think we will have any luck this time?" Ghost asked appearing next to me.

"I doubt it but we could get clues with this," I said pulling out the scroll, "this bad boy should be able to faintly tell us where Vex confluxes were and should be,"

"And what's wrong with me?" Ghost asked.

"Nothing you are great but this will give us the extra help, anyways it's not as accurate as you ghost," I said putting it back in my pocket, "Now let's get to one of our areas of interest,"

"Alright, let's go," Ghost said disappearing.

Ozpin's POV

Like the night before Mystogen went to the Emerald Forest, but instead of stopping at the cameras at the edge of Beacon Cliff, I followed him with the cameras inside the forest as well. He stopped for a moment and a white and black diamond-shaped object appeared beside him which he started to commune with.

'Interesting, this adds more mystery to you Mystogen,'

I believe it was time to confront Mystogen about his late-night adventures and now the object that has the ability to float.
