The spark

chapter 1

"I really like you, I don't care if your dating my best friend Betty" said Jessica to Nathan while he help her with the classwork. Hearing this he stopped and looked at her totally surprised, he could not believe that his girlfriend's best friend would say that to him, he was speechless until when he felt her hand on his leg, then he pulled away, Jessica smiled. Things with Nathan and Betty were not going so well mainly because they were not alike in anyway but Nathan still didn't want to end it. They had been to together for almost three years but things hadn't changed.

Everyone knew that they weren't compatible but the thought of them splitting up after being so long together wasn't an option. Nathan liked Betty but knew they would be better as friends than a couple. He couldn't  end it, he wanted Betty to break up with him but never told any one except his best and closest friends Liam. 

Now back to story. "Jessica I like you to, but as a friend if I wasn't dating Betty then maybe we could have been, but I'm sorry". Jessica was not used to getting rejected by boys she was popular, beautiful with long hair and had an amazing body. She was surprised that Nathan rejected her but still didn't quit on several occasions she would try her luck with him but Nathan never gave in.

He didn't tell Betty about what was going on but instead kept it to himself telling himself  he was saving her friendship with Jessica, but really just liked the attention, I mean who wouldn't.

Eventually things escalated and he found Jessica kissing him. he knew then that he let things get to far he needed help and advise so he went to his best friend Liam.

Liam and Nathan were inseparable they had been friends for about three years know but it felt like they knew teacher for a longer time they met in middle school and they had been best of friends since they were the closest best friends ever, and everyone knew. They even won an award  because of there friendship once. The only problem was that they could never successfully talk about Nathan's relationship with Betty without Liam changing the subject and Nathan never knew why, so after Nathan tried again to talk to Liam about it, he simply changed the topic and paid no attention to problem. No relationship is perfect right?

So Nathan went to the person he should have gone to in the first place his amazingly wise friend Lilly. Lilly  was the best and Nathan cherished their friendship so much he wouldn't change it for anything in the would, she gave the best advises and was always their when he needed her so he tried his best to make it up to her every time.

After school was over he followed Lilly home and told her everything that happened, and of course Lilly was disappointed at him she shouted at him and even threatened never to speak to him again. She said one thing that caught his attention"I can't believe you did this to Betty, I never knew you were a player, and if your a player then we cannot be friends". Nathan quickly remembered why Lilly hated players so much, her ex boyfriend Richard who is one of Nathan's closest friend cheated on Lilly with Racheal. Racheal was a nice and some might say a perfect girl, but her only problem was her inability to stand up for her self and say on several occasions, Nathan and Liam would try to help but it always ended being useless.

After all the shouting and hitting Nathan apologized and said that its been over two years since a girl tried to flirt with him and although that wasn't a valued point, but Lilly understood because she understood how he felt being in a relationship with someone you do not want to be with and also being restricted from finding someone you might actually enjoy being with.

So Lilly told him to come after school tomorrow so she would tell him what to do. she told him to keep his head low tomorrow during school and not do the things he does in situations like this.
