After that, people were getting comfortable. Then we heard a snapping sound. We all turned to the Basket case. I believe her name was Allison. She was biting her nails.
"You keep eat your hand you won't be hungry for lunch," Bender told her. She bit once more than spit her nail that she bit off at Bender. He ignored it.
"I've seen ya before, ya know," he told her. He then pointing to me he said, "You, too."
"Well, of course you have," Brian mumbled.
"What was that Brain?" Bender asked.
"I, uh. I said that, um. Of course you've seen her," Brian said while pointing to me. "Because she's, um, hard not to see. Every time I see her she stands out. I mean, she's always singing loudly and she, um, air guitars all the time." Wow. Brian actually pays attention to me!
"Uh. Thanks I guess?" I said quizzically.
"Don't worry. It was a compliment," Brian said reassuringly. I smiled at him and turned back around. We all went back to what we were doing. I was singing 'Can't Fight This Feeling' while air guitaring.
"Who do you think I am?" I turned around to see a mumbling Brian. "Who are you? Who are you?" He took the clip on his pen and hooked it to his bottom lip. "I'm a walrus," he said while touching his nose with the pen still hooked on his lip. He took the pen of after he noticed me and Bender looking at him. I chuckled at him and he laughed nervously. Bender kept staring at him and taking off his scarf while Brian rubbed his lip and went back to his paper. They both decided to take their coats off. When Bender looked at Brian, Brian decided to pretend he's cold and put his jacket back on while rubbing his hands together trying to "warm up". Bender just kept looking at him while Bender took his jacket off.
"It's the shits, huh?" Brian asked and chuckled. He cleared his throat looking back at his paper. Poor Brian. I smiled at the nerd and stared to turn back around while singing, "I can't fight this feeling anymoooore. I forgotten what I started fight foooor." When I realized Bender was crumbling up his paper and threw it over Princess's head. I noticed that both the Princess and the Jock both saw it, but chose to ignore him. Bender started singing a riff of a song I instantly knew as 'Sunshine of Your Love'.
"I can't believe this is happening to me," she said rolling her eyes. I did the same.
"You poor thing," I said sarcastically. She looked at me with disgust. She's the reason I'm here! Well, one of the reasons.
"Oh shit!" We all looked at Bender. "What're we s'pose to do if we gotta take a piss?!" He looked around the room to see if any of us had an answer. "Well," I heard a zip. "If ya gotta go, you gotta go." He pressed up against the desk as if he was about to urinate on the floor. The Jock and Princess turned to face him.
"Hey man! You're not urinating in here!" Jock yelled at him. I think his name was Andrew.
"Don't talk, don't talk! It makes it crawl back up!' Was this really happening?!
"You whip it out, and your dead before the first drop hits the floor," Andrew threatened him.
"You're pretty sexy when you're angry. Grr." I hid my mouth in my hand to hide a laugh.
Bender looked at Princess, then me, then Brian and said, "Hey homeboy," Brian pointed to himself with a pen, "Why don't you go close the door and we'll get the prom queen and the musician impregnated." I looked at Bender and then Brian. Brian looked embarrassed. He kinda looked angry, too for some reason. Bender looked at Princess
"Hey," Andy said, but Bender kept his eyes on Princess. "Hey!" Bender looked over at Andy.
"What?" Bender asked Andy.
"If I lose my temper, you're totaled man," Andy threatened Bender.
"Totally?"
"Totally."
"My don't you just shut up. Nobody here's interested," Princess said over her shoulder.
"Really," Andy agreed, "Buttface."
"Well, hey Sporto. What did you do to get here?" Bender asked, "Forgot to wash your jock?" Andy ignored him, but clenched his fist and glared at the table.
"Uh, excuse me, fellas, but I think we should just write our papers," Brian said, but was, of course, ignored.
"Look, just because you live here, doesn't give you the right to be a pain in the ass, so knock it off," Andy told Bender.
"It's a free country,"
"He's just doing it to get a rise out of you," Princess told Andy, "Just ignore him."
"Sweets, you couldn't ignore me if you tried," Bender said.
After a few moments of silence, Bender has a new plan to annoy the to teens in front of him. "So. So! Are you two, like boyfriend and girlfriend?" Nothing. "Steady date?" Still nothing. "Lo-vers?" He was getting no where, until he said, "Come on Sporto. Level with me here. Did you slip her the hot... Beef... Injection." Boom!
"GO TO HELL!" Claire yelled.
"ENOUGH!" Andy yelled at the same time.
"Hey! What's going on in there?" Vernon asked a question that went unanswered.
"Scumbag," Andrew murmured. Bender stood up and sat on the railing next to his table.
"Let's say we close that door. We can't have a party with Vernon watching us every 5 seconds."
"Well, ya know the door s'pose to stay open," Brian spoke up.
"So what?"
"So why don't ya just shut up! There's 5 other people in here you know!" Andrew yelled at Bender.
"Gosh, you can count. I knew you had to be smart to be a wrestler." Bender kept egging him on.
"Who the hell are you to judge anybody anyway?" Andy asked. I got angry.
"Really," agreed the Princess, who's name was unknown to me still, but right now, I couldn't care less.
"Look who's talking Sporto! Don't tell me that you and your team have NEVER judged anyone in this school! Same to you Princess! Yeah I'm talking to you redhead!" She looked shockingly at me after I called her a princess. "I know that you both probably judged me, Allison, Brian, and Bender here, am I wrong?!" I looked at Andrew. He had a guilty look on his face. I looked at Princess who was looked disgustingly at me. I felt 5 eyes on me. I walked away and sat in the back desk on the right side closest to the rail and sat in my chair backwards. I heard Sporto and Bender yelling back and forth and Princess cutting in. I was singing 'Up Where We Belong' when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up at my crush's face.
"Hey. Um. That was, uh, pretty cool. What you said back there I mean."
"Thanks," I told him, "What are they arguing about now?"
"Well, before I came over here, they were arguing about clubs. It's probably something different now. Let's see, shall we?" He extended his hand for me to take it. I smiled at him, probably blushing, and took his hand. He helped me up, but didn't let go of my hand.
"Oh. I know. I have such a deep admiration for guys who roll around on the floor with other guys," Bender stated sarcastically. I could tell he was talking about wrestling. They're still on that?!
"Ah. You wouldn't make it! You don't have any goals!" Sporto was getting on my nerves.
"Oh. But I do!"
"Yeah?"
"I wanna be just... Like... You. I figure all I need is a lobotomy and some tights."
"You wear tight?" Brian asked. He had, sadly, let go of my hand before asking this question.
"No, I don't wear tights. I wear the required uniform," Andrew informed us.
"Tights," I commented.
"Shut up." We quickly sat back down in our seats, but Bender sat in between Princess and Sporto. Vernon walked out of his office and I knew something was gonna happen cause Bender sat there looking innocent. When Vernon was out of sight, Bender snorted at Andrew and said, "Woo" to the Princess. He got up and started towards the door.
"Ya know, there's not s'posed to be any monkey business," Brian informed Bender. Bender turned around and pointed at the geek, speaking like Vernon.
"Young man, have you finished your paper?" He turned back around and started to unscrew a screw on the door. The next thing you knew, the door shut.
"Come on Bender, don't screw around," Andy told Bender.
"What are ya gonna do?" Princess asked.
"Drop dead I hope," the Andy remarked.
"Bender tha-that's school property there. Ya know it doesn't belong to us. It's not something to be toyed with," Brian told him nervously.
"Quite guys. He knows what he's doing," I assured them.
"Yeah. Listen to the music guru," Bender said smiling at me. The door shut with a bang and Bender tucked the screw in his pocket.
"That's very funny. Come on. Fix it!" Sporto was getting really annoyed now.
"You should really fix that," Brian to him. I turned around and looked at him in his sparkling eyes.
"Brian. Chill. He knows what he's doing. Trust me." I placed a hand on his arm. He looked down at my hand then back up at me.
"Have you been in detention before?" He asked me.
"No. First time. I punched the councilor after he told me to tell him about my life. I refused and he suggested therapy. I snapped and punched him. I didn't want to be there anyways. I was sent there after yelling at Princess over here." I nodded towards the redhead. Andrew and Bender were yelling back and forth about the screw.
"Wow. How do you know he knows what he's doing then?" Brain looked shocked and also curious.
"John has been here more than us. He should know what he's doing by now." I smiled at Brian. I'm actually having a conversation with him! He was about to say something when Vermon walked in.
