The shadow of light series Book one-The words

11-My real past

I stared at him dumbfounded with my mouth opened until he started to look annoyed and I quickly fumbled for something to say.

"How...what..you" Good going Cassie way to be smooth and confident. He smiled amused by my reaction.

"It's okay honey I know this is all confusing to you but I'll try to explain it."

"When I was twenty-two I meant your mother the princess of the Lights. Even though we were supposed to hate each other we coundnt help the attraction we felt for each other and eventually in secrecy we had you, a beautiful baby girl." He looked at me fondly before continuing on with my past.

"But...." His expression turned dark and dangerous. "People started to get suspisous and we knew if we didn't hide you somewhere people would use you to their advantage, because we knew you were special ever since you were born. Since you were not just a light or dark gift you were both making you the most powerful being already. But add the fact you were from me and your mom the most powerful spirits you are by most terms inderstructable." I drew in a breath from the blow of the new knowledge of my real past and power. I'm even more of a freak than I thought I bitterly added in my head."But" I snapped my mind back from my thoughts and focused on him, my dad again. "You will only become more powerful if you train and the only way you could train is if you...... come with me."

I looked at him shellshocked yet again and tried to stutter my reply as best I could.

"You mea..mean that I wi...Will go with...with you to the dark world."

"Yes." He replied courtly. Even though I was frightened of going with him, something about him told me if I don't go with him on my terms he'll make make me go with his so mustering up my courage I said the three words that would probably change my life forever (again).

"Yes..I'll go"

Without waiting another second he smiled and walked towards me grabbing my hand. His hand felt cold and lifeless, but it made me feel safe. He waved his hand in the air and blackness started swirling and making shapes until it turned into a door shape.

He started walking towards the portalish thing that looked exactly like the Light portal but instead of looking happy and bright it looked dreary and scary.

Fear overtook me when I knew I would preobably go through that torture of going through their worlds passages again but before I could protest and ask if there was another way to get there but before I could ask I was pushed into the void yet again.

I closed my eyes tight to relieve the pain that was coarsing through me right now. My body was screaming in agony but at least this time I was ready for it and I lessened the blow a little bit. All I saw was a bright light that was making my head pound and eyes sting. To make it worse the words kept coming and going, but each time it left its mark on my brain. YOU...DONT BELONG HERE... NOT DARKNESS...NOT LIGHT...YOU CANNOT BE ONE....OR THE OTHER....YOU ARE BOTH.

And like every other time I passed out and the last thing I fully saw was a glimace of darkness piercing the light making me feel relief from the pure light.
