"Seriously!" Jaemin pouted.

"Okay okay..." Donghyuck smiled fondly at his friend's worry. "I'll come back safe and sound."

"Promise?"

"That's so elementary, Jaemin!" Donghyuck laughed when Jaemin held up his pinky.

"Still!" Jaemin puffed his cheeks and pouted harder.

"Fine fine..." Donghyuck walked back over and wrapped their little fingers. "I'll be back soon, Jae."

[ Somewhere in Daegu ]

A girl sits by the window, staring out into the loneliness of her reflection. The sun is setting, and the glass of the panes became her mirror.

Her long hair was put into twin braids, and she sat calmly. Her thoughts raced from here and there, longing to go outside soon.

Unlike a certain someone she loved, she wanted to live life just once, even if she was going to die.

Her pale blue eyes flickered with hope.

Perhaps they could have fun together again one day.

"Feeling alright..?"

A familiar voice called to her.

"Ah, it's just you, Junmyeon-oppa," she jolted, startled.

"Sorry there," he gently chuckled. "I must have surprised you."

"No no... that's okay!" The girl quietly said.

"I just got a call, your oppa can't make it today."

"Ah~? I see..." she sadly heaved a sigh and looked back out the window.

"I'm sure it was important, dear," Junmyeon watched as the young girl fiddled with her ruffled pastel dress.

"So my Lion can't come today..." she said again, sadly. "But Junmyeon-oppa, could I play the piano instead?"

"Of course, dear," he smiled softly at the little girl's wonderful patience. "Let me help you."

Junmyeon walked to the little one and unlocked the wheels on her wheelchair before comfortably taking her to the piano.

Leaving her to practice, he shut the door to the music room and picked up his ringing phone.

"Yixing baby? What's wrong?" Junmyeon was surprised to get a call from his boyfriend, who was working at the time.

"Jun, I need you to listen to me very carefully..." Yixing startled his boyfriend with a very muted voice, much unlike his usual calls.

"What? What's going on?" Junmyeon whispered frantically, already pacing around the hall like a mad man.

"Someone's after Yeoru."

"What!?" Junmyeon frantically stared at the door knob to the music room.

"Keep an eye on her. It's not for sure, but there's a good chance that he's the one coming."

"Oh no no no... You don't mean..."

"It's starting, Jun. It's starting," Yixing quietly replied. "He's ready to kill everyone..."

"You can't be serious?! How could HE kill---"

"AHHHHHHH!!"

Junmyeon dropped his phone, opening the doors to the music room.

His heart did leaps and pumped his blood in a racing panic.

He sprinted to the little girl, pulling her up off the ground and hugging  her close to his chest.

"Are you okay dear? How are you feeling? What happened?!" Junmyeon held her tight as he look around them in a protective manner.

"O-oppa... I j-just fell out of my chair..." Yeoru teared up. "O-oppa... is he..."

Junmyeon gasped, "No no no child. He will not come here. It's okay dear, it's okay."

He pat the little girl lovingly.

"He will not step a foot in this house. And if he does, Lion and oppa will drag him out by the ears!"

Yeoru wiped her eyes with her tiny hands. She looked at him with a pouty  lip.

"I wanna see Lion right now..."

"Just hold on, dear," Junmyeon hugged her more. "I'll call him as soon as possible."

She sniffled.

"O-oppa.... " Yeoru weeped. "Will I die...?"

"Oh no no no child! You can't ever say that!" Junmyeon just rocked he back and forth. "You will not die by the likes of him ever. You'll live right now as seven. You'll see seventeen and live up to seventy. You won't be dead now, child. I won't allow it!"

He made her look at him in the eyes.

"Minnie and I love you very much, Yeoru. As Prince and Lion, I promise to protect you with our lives..."

The girl just clutched him tighter and continued weeping.

Junmyeon then understood a little bit of this seven-year-old girl.

How she was lonely with a family that was ripping at the seams... and it was the very cause that her life was on the line.

He could never imagine how brave she really was.
