Chapter Two

"No!"

Nilingon niya ako. Nakakunot ang noo.

"No, don't go."

"Why?" bumalik ito at lumapit sa akin.

"I don't mind." Napalunok ako. "Okey lang sa akin. I don't need your commitment. I don't like commitment; I've had enough of it. I don't want it anymore. There will be nothing between us. You're just you, with her and I don't care. I'm just me, with anyone, whoever, and please don't meddle with my affairs. There will be nothing between us, Benjamin. Wala."

"Hindi ko maintindihan. Anong ibig mong sabihin?" he frowned.

"Hindi mo kailangang maintindihan. Anuman ang mangyari sa atin, wala lang iyon. There is nothing to know and there is nothing to hide because there is nothing happening. Wala lang tayo."

"Khim—-" 

Hindi niya naituloy ang gustong sabihin. Lumapat ang labi ko sa kanya at siniil siya ng halik. Hindi ko na alam ang ginagawa dahil sa malakas na kabog ng aking dibdib. My mind is numb, para akong inililipad sa ere. Ewan, manhid ang buo kong isip, katawan at pakiramdam. I just can't feel anything.

"Open your eyes." may narinig akong bumulong sa tenga ko.

"Benj?" para pa akong nagulat na malamang nasa harap ko siya.

"Benjamin. Please call me by my name, and open your eyes. Look at me." 

Napalunok ako. The numbness are all gone. I can hear my heart thumping so loud I thought mabibingi ako. Hinawakan niya ang mukha ko habang ang isa nitong braso ay nakayakap sa katawan ko. Nasa likuran kami sa labas ng kusina. Isinandig niya ako sa pader. Paano kami nakarating dito ng hindi ko nalalaman? Binuhat ba niya ako? Ah, hindi ko maalala.

itinaas niya ang aking baba at saka matiim na tinitigan. Parang malululon ko ang sariling paghinga. sobra akong kinakabahan? Saan, sa excitement, sa nerbiyos, sa takot, saan?

"Nahalikan ka na ba?" tanong nito. Tumaas ang kilay ko.

"Of course!"

"Ganyan ka ba nahalikan?"

"Hm, yeah, so?"

"I don't like it. Buburahin ko lahat ng memories mo from your past kisses. Ito lang ang gusto kong maalala mo, ako at ang mga halik ko lang." 

Oh god! I can feel his breath on my face, and oh a sweet smelling of mint toothpaste and after cologne.

His hand touches my face and his long lean fingers brush on my cheeks down to my lips. He used his thumb to part my drying lips. Suddenly I feel so thirsty. He slid his thumb from my lips to my chin down to my neck. I am getting goose bumps. Nahigit ko ng hininga! I can even hear my own throat swallowing. Para bang ang lahat ay nasa slow motion and I am getting impatient.

He parted his lips and it's like a cue for me so I jerked up my head to reach for his lips but his fingers wind up in my hair and tugs them tightly pulling me back where he wanted it.

I felt the pain from my head but it did not bother me at all, instead it just turned me on. He came closer and his sweet breath is making me dizzy. I am focused on his lips, coming closer, so close I could almost taste it. I raised my hands to touch his head and tried to bring him closer to me quick but he won't let me. He took them and pinned them on top of my head and not letting go.

"Be patient, Khime." Ngiti niya. "Are you really alright with this?" his voice is so soft and rough at the same time it's ticklish.

Napalunok ako. I want your damn lips already! Sigaw ng utak kong naliliyo sa excitement. Tumango ako.
