15. 「I'M SORRY」

I woke up peacefully

But I knew

That it'll come soon

I quickly washed up

And went out to the store a few streets away

To get some stuff for breakfast

I got back home

And went into the kitchen

Before I could do anything

I heard heavy footsteps

My heart started to beat erratically

I knew what's about to come

I wanted to rush out of the house

Too slow

My father slammed his hand against my throat

Pinning me to the door that'll lead me to freedom

"WHAT DID I SAY BEFORE, YOU BASTARD?!"

A monstrous growl emitted from the beast in front of me

"I'm sorry,"

Is the only thing I could muster up

He seemed to only get angrier

Putting more pressure on my throat

I began to feel the lack of oxygen in my lungs

Wheezing I tried to catch a breath

But to no luck

He screamed some more about warnings, my wrongdoings

Calling me bastard the whole time

I didn't listen anymore

So numb to everything

He punched me in the stomach

Gaining a groan from me

Tears wandered down my cheeks at this point

I felt lightheaded

I hoped to pass out honestly

But he let go of me

And I slid down the door onto the wooden floor

He punched me again in the face

My blood spewed onto the ground

I feel as if he dislocated my jaw

That's possible I guess

He picked me up

And brought me to my room

I guess he's gonna lock me up again

I guess I've gone over the limit again

I guess this is my life

A sad thing, isn't it?

After dropping me on the floor

He stepped on my side

More blood flew out of my mouth

And more meaningless words flew out of his

Is this the end?

He was about to step on me again

Until

*DING DONG*

The doorbell

The person saved my sad life

I don't want it to be saved honestly

What's my life worth anyways

Nothing

He turned around and went towards the door

I, again, crawled to the wall

Trying to support myself in some kind of way

I wondered how am I still conscious

After all of that

I forgot there was someone at the door

But I quickly got reminded when I saw that oh so familiar figure

Right at the moment

He looked like an angel to me
