Today was the big day, everyone and everything was perfect.

The flowers, black and red roses, were scattered around the cathedral, the music was swelling from the organ and Gerard looked good in his suit. Black pants and jacket with a red tie on top of a black button down shirt. His normally unruly and slightly greasy hair was combed into perfection and soft from a recent wash.

Gerard looked around, his brother Mikey was near him as his best man, Bob and Ray were nearby too, all three dressed similarly to Gerard. Gerard's parents were in their seats and Donna, Gerard's mother, was tearing up already. When she saw Gerard looking at her, she smiled softly and dabbed at her eyes with a tissue that Frank's mother had handed to her.

The rest of the small congregation was filled with friend's and a few family members, everyone that mattered to him and Frank was there.

The organ music got louder, and the doors opened up, giving everyone the cue to stand up and give their attention to the man walking through them.

Gerard looked towards the man slowly walking down the aisle, and his breath was immediately taken away.

Frank, Gerard's soon to be husband, was walking down the aisle with a grace that was never normally seen. Dressed in a white suit that covered up his tattoos except the ones on his hands, with a red tie similar to Gerard, he walked behind a family member's niece who was tossing rose petals from a basket in her tiny hands.

Gerard smiled and blinked rapidly in a last ditch effort  to get rid of the tears that were forming in his hazel eyes. His smile got larger as Frank neared the alter and the two men smiled widely at each other.

Frank went up the few steps to stand in front of Gerard, with the priest in between them. The priest cleared his throat as the audience sat and the two men in front of him clasped hands.

Gerard could barely focus on the vows that the preacher said as he repeated them back, he could only see Frank, no thanks to the tears that were swimming in his eyes. Frank was the same boat, letting a tear drip down his cheek, with eyes only for the man in front of him as he said his part.

"And now I believe that Gerard has some vows of his own," said the priest.

Gerard took a deep breath before speaking, "Frank, let me just start out by saying that I love you. I will never get tired of saying that to you. I promise that I will never stop loving you, and will always be there for you. If there is anything I can do to make you feel better when you are down, I will do it. I promise to do anything in my power to make you smile every single day." he paused to take a breath and Frank smiled at him and squeezed his hands. "I love you, Frank, and I cannot wait to spend everyday with you."

Gerard glanced at the priest to signal that he was done, then quickly looked back at Frank. The elderly man gave the raven haired man a ring, and Gerard took Frank's left hand in his. He slipped the gold band on Frank's ring finger, and Frank did the same to Gerard's hand.

"I now pronounce you, Gerard and Frank Iero-Way, husband and husband. You may now kiss." the priest said.

The second the last syllable left the preist's mouth Frank pulled Gerard to him and dipped him down, holding him closely. Their lips met quickly and their first kiss together as a married couple was perfect.

"Don't come home for Christmas, you're the last thing I wanna see underneath the tree, merry Christmas, I could care less"

Gerard suddenly woke up, tangled in the sheets on his bed, face wet from the dream. He ran a hand through his nearly shoulder length red hair, and checked the time. Three am on Christmas morning.

The space next to him in bed was cold, where Frank should have been, and Gerard noticed this as tears dripped down his face.

"Why would Frank be there," Gerard thought aloud and flopped back down on the mattress, "He left back in November you idiot. All because of your stupid, drunk decisions that you made."

It was true, Frank was no longer Gerard's boyfriend of a year and a half because of Gerard's drunk decision one night.

The flash back hit the red haired man against his will like an oncoming train. Gerard going to a bar one night while Frank was away for a weekend business trip with his record label he worked at, getting drunk out of his noggin and ending up sleeping with an old friend, Bert, that he had run into while there. Frank found out shortly after, and the screaming ensued. He had left Gerard sitting on his knees with tears streaming down his face as Frank stormed around their apartment throwing his things together in a few suitcases.  He had said he would be back later for the rest of his things when Gerard was out so he wouldn't have to see his face, then slammed the door as Gerard sobbed from his position on the floor.

Back in the present, Gerard saw it useless to go back to sleep so he crawled out of bed and walked into the living and dining room. He plopped down on the couch and rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand then stared at the softly glowing Christmas tree that was wedged in the corner.

"Merry Christmas, Frankie. I hope you're happy wherever you are," whispered Gerard as he leaned his head back on the couch.
