Chapter 36: Unplanned

Start from the beginning

I slightly nodded. I didn't know Lucas, he hadn't been chosen to play for Brazil so... I didn't care if I'd see him. He didn't know me but it'd be different meeting Willian or Oscar.

Samantha kept talking while I had drifted away with my thoughts. Would I meet him? I hadn't seen him since I've told him I wouldn't love him... I knew that Lucía had told him that I wasn't engaged... she had yelled at me. How could I even do such a thing... but I couldn't take it back so...

"So you'll take the Portuguese speaking one... his English has improved but you could translate it for him if he doesn't understand the question... I couldn't."

I blinked a few times as I heard her saying that. "What?"

She parked her car and looked over to me. "Did you even listen what I just told you?" I shook slightly my head. She rolled her eyes. "So excited do meet the players of Chelsea or what?" I smiled lightly and she chuckled. "I'm going to interview Fernando while you take Oscar." She said and left the car. I froze.

I had to make an interview with Oscar? Oh god. A knock at the window made me look out. "Come on. We don't have all day." She said, and I left the car too.

She walked with rapid steps to the stadium, while I followed her slowly. That could not go well. I hadn't written nor talked to Oscar since I left him. How would he react seeing me again?

Oscar's POV

Policeman helps his son covering a murder.

I sighed and closed the newspaper. So, Lucía had been right with Samuel murdering her brother. "I'm not in the mood for an interview." I heard Fernando saying and looked at him. We were sitting in the locker room, both of us had finished changing after training but we had to stay, because we had to hold an interview.

I could tell I was everything else than excited about giving any kind of interviews. My dislike against reporters wasn't small at the moment. "Same." I mumbled, and looked up, as our coach approached.

"Get your asses up. Fernando your reporter is waiting on the tribune and Oscar yours is in the press room." We both nodded and after saying good bye to each other I made myself on the way to the press room. I sighed as I remembered the last interviews I had given. The reporters were quiet annoying about me and Vittoria. They were convinced that there was more between us than just friendship.

But there wasn't.

I had made Vittoria clear that I couldn't be with her because my heart was given... and I wasn't over Taléia.

Taléia.

I hadn't heard anything from her since that one day. I missed her way to much, and it didn't help me knowing that she lied to me.

Lucía told me that Taléia left because of Samuel... because Samuel threaten her... I could've helped her. The whole team would've been on our side...but...

Samuel wasn't a threat anymore now.

But Taléia hadn't call nor written anything to me.

She knew where she could find me.

But I didn't know where I could find her.

My management had told me that I should avoid any questions about Vittoria anymore, and keep the focus on football. I hoped the reporter wouldn't be too persistent. I opened the door to the press room and I felt like my heart stopped beating as I saw her sitting on the table. She looked up and I could see that she was nervous. Nervous because of the interview? Or because she was seeing me again after a quiet long time since we've seen each other the last time.

I tried to act normal, like nothing had happened and sat down in front of her. "Hey." I said, and looked at her. "Hey." She mumbled, and cleared her throat as she realized that her voice was low. I could tell she didn't know how to act.

"We don't have much time so I guess we go straight to the interview." She started and I just nodded. I didn't have a problem with that. "The questions are from my mentor so..." She already excused herself which made me frown. What were there for questions on her paper? But I waited for her to start asking the first one.

I felt set back in time, as she started asking me questions and I replied to them. Both of us acting like nothing had happen between us.

She came to the last question and I looked away from her shaking lightly my head. Of course it was a question about Vittoria. "Vittoria and I are just friends. Nothing more to add." I said and looked back at her. "We're done then?" I added and she slightly nodded. "Perfect." I stood up and turned around to leave the room.

Just as I had made a few steps to the door, I heard her calling my name. "Oscar please..." I turned around, raising both eyebrows. She had stood up and walked around the table. She was still standing in front of it, hesitating and not sure if she should approach me. "We need to talk." She said and I looked aside, biting slightly my bottom lip. I took a deep breath before looking back at her. "I'd say everything that you should've said to me ... you should've done in Brazil and not here." I replied and looked at her. I wasn't going to forgive her so easily, even if I had to fight with myself not going over to her and pull her close to me. She had hurt me and I needed her to understand that, even if I could understand that she did it to 'protect' me from Samuel. At least she had thought she needed to protect me... it wasn't like I couldn't do that myself.

Yes I knew.

Thanks to Lucía.

Actually Lucía was the one I still had contact with, mostly because of Neymar. She wanted me to know - to understand. I didn't know if Lucía had told Taléia that she told me.

That she told me that Samuel threaten Taléia to harm me, that he was the one who pushed me downstairs but I wasn't caring about that.

"I'm sorry..." She mumbled and looked down.

It broke my heart over again as I saw her so sad in front of me and before I realized I had brought the distance between us. I cupped her face and looked straight into her eyes. She looked at me surprised. But I didn't let her react or say something.

I pressed my lips onto hers and kissed her. I kissed her passionately and long. As I pulled away, she breathed heavily. I let go of her and stepped back. She looked at me, still trying to catch her breath.

"Remember as you asked me if I trust you and I said yes?" I asked and she slightly nodded."Well... that changed. I don't trust you anymore." I turned around and left. Leaving her back alone.

I could feel her gaze on me.
