First Story,
While Omar bin Al-Khattab (He was the Calipha then, i.e. the president of the whole Islamic region ) was lecturing in the mosque he gave an opinion concerning the financial settlement after divorce. A woman heard him and disputed with him in the matter loudly, in front of all the male attendants. Omar did not rebuke her. Nevertheless, he realized that she was right and her opinion is better than his so he said: ‘Omar was wrong and a woman was right.’

What I really like about this story:
1) That they had a parliamentary country before people even were organized enough to think about it, and in this country a woman not only has a right to vote but also a right to speak up.
2) This situation happened in 640 AD, when people in France were still debating "Are women creatures or human?" and people in England were allowed legally to sell their wives.
3) Women were allowed to not only learn but also defend their rights.
4) The president of the country meets with the people on a daily basis.
4) Finally, it's always a thrill, when a president of a country admits that he is wrong, especially someone as powerful as Omar.
