Of all people to return from the dead, it had to be this asshole.

Akamai has returned. After killing Nuru and implanting a fucking xenomorph thirsty for blood into an innocent student, he's returned. And almost no one is happy.

I can't blame Kokoro for not hating Akamai as much as I do. They were friends (boyfriends?) before this mess, they worked together. They know each other like the back of their hands. Kokoro even expected that Akamai would pull something like this. He told me that yes, he was relieved to have someone familiar with him, but he'd rather Akamai be at home. Somewhere that wouldn't mess with his head. And yet, here we are!

When he first reappeared I noticed he had taken the bracelet I made for the dead members of the ship, the black one. Everyone else had a white one and now he's wearing his black one. That I specifically made to show that I forgive everyone else, but him. Did he not get the hint?

I sit in the second boys dorm. I don't remember who else is in this one, but after the trial Kokoro moved in. I'd expect him to move back into his original dorm with Akamai, but I can understand why everyone would rather have Akamai sleep alone. Right now though it's mid day and everyone is trying to cope with this mess.

There's a knock on the door and it cracks open, and I already know who it is. Akamai stepped inside fully once he saw no one else was here. Of course he wants to talk.

"Aolui..."

I shift away from him. I have questions. The most important one being, why are you here?

"Aolui," he repeats. "We need to talk."

"About what?"

He furrows his eyebrows and it's quiet for a moment. "Aolui. Please try to understand, what I did to Nur--"

"You are not about to tell me that you had to tear apart our daughter," I cut him off. "Ah... No. My daughter."

"You don't understand! Nuru was--"

"Oh, I understand plenty," I stand. "I understand that you went way too far, Akamai. I understand that Kokoro meant the world to you; I understand you wanted to protect him at all costs..." I step towards him. Akamai backs up into the door and it shuts with a 'click.'

"I understand..." My face gets red, I feel it. My voice cracks, "That you killed two innocent students to save someone that wasn't in danger."

Akamai doesn't look like a cornered animal but he does resemble one. His back is against the door, he's trying to keep a steady face. Unlike me, he doesn't get emotional about death. He probably doesn't get emotional about anything.

"Lui, listen to me--"

"Don't call me that!!" I shout. It actually makes both of us flinch and I step back. I can't believe I'm getting so emotional over this fucking rat. I catch my breath. "You don't get to call me that, Akamai..."

I stumble back and sit on the bed, giving myself a moment to clear my head and cry. With tears in my eyes I can't see, anyway, so I let them fall and dry on my face.

Akamai steps towards me so he isn't pressed against the door anymore. He shifts his weight between his feet. "I'm sorry... For what I did. I know sorry won't cut it, but I am. And the monster.."

"Edgar," I sniff. He blinks,

"What?"

"We didn't know what to call it. So we named it Edgar."

Akamai laughs a bit. I'm wondering how he can be so sick to laugh about his own man-eating creation. It's killed, like, 3 people already. And almost me.

I stand up and wipe off my face. And I didn't anticipate how close Akamai was standing because now we are. Very very close to each other. It gets kinda quiet.

"Mm.. Akamai?" I get his attention. He looks directly at me.

I lean forward and kiss him gently.

But of course, that's not my true intention.

While he's staying still I take the bracelet off his wrist. This is mine, and the fact that he took it for himself makes me overwhelmingly angry. And as I break the kiss I pull back my arm and sock Akamai right in the face. Honestly? I was aiming for the eyes and I got right between them.

Akamai falls back and hits his head on the door, knocking him out. I'm tempted to kick him in the ribs, but if one if his bones punctures a lung and he dies, that counts as murder on my part.

"That's for murdering my daughter, jackass." I pull up my hair and use the bracelet as a hairband. "Some apex predator. Can't even sense a reproductive threat when it hits you in the face, huh?"

Behind me I hear a rumbling in the vents. I start to panic, but then I relax. Pushing Akamai away from the door with my foot I exit the dorm and lock the door behind me.

Maybe Edgar wants to meet his dad.
