My foot taps against the carpeted floor of the airport as I anxiously wait for Laura's flight to land. I keep checking my phone around every five minutes to see if she texted. Looking out the window, I see a plane land, and I know it's hers because of the Air Canada logo on the side of the plane. I hop off of my seat and grab my cardboard sign, waiting outside of the terminal with a whole group of other people waiting for their family or friends to walk off the plane. I stand there with my sign that says "Laura!" on it. My phone buzzes and I quickly pull it out.

Laura: Here! Just about 2 go through the terminal!

I smile and put my phone back in my purse, spotting her in a Shawn Mendes shirt. She runs out of the terminal with her backpack around her shoulders and her arms wrap around my waist.

"Laura! How's it going?" I ask, breaking the hug. She smiles wide and walks beside me.

"Good! I can't believe that I'm meeting Shawn tomorrow!" She exclaims, skipping off to baggage claim. I chase her, trying to catch up to her cheerful skips.

"Laura, slow down, the only thing you're going to do is get lost." I grab her arm and stop her, causing her to roll her eyes.

"If I lose you in this airport mom and dad are gonna kill me." We get to baggage claim and I see her run for her suitcase. She comes back and I politely take her suitcase out of her hands. We march out of the building and I try to find my car.

"Be on the lookout for a grey Honda Civic," I order, walking around the parking lot with Laura following me.

"Is that it?" She points to my car and I nod.

"Yep, nice eye!" We stroll off to the car and I open the trunk, tossing her suitcase in the back. When I walk back, she's already sitting in the front seat, scrolling through her phone.

"You know you can't be on your phone the entire time you're here, I hope you know that," I tell her, buckling myself in. She looks from me and her phone, groaning a little.

"I'm just checking to see if Shawn is in Toronto yet," she says, clicking her iPhone off.

"Well, is he?" She nods her head and a goofy smile is plastered over her face.

"Can you believe that I'm in the same city as Shawn Peter Raul Mendes?!" She starts to freak out, and soon I can see she has a few tears coming out of her eyes.

"Are you good?" My brows furrow and I pull into the street. She nods and wipes her tear away, looking out the window.

"So, are you hungry? I've got ramen noodles and cereal at home. Or, we could go get some fast food." She turns to me and nods.

"I want fast food! Can we go to McDonald's?" She asks. I purse my lips and nod, turning my blinkers on and pulling into the nearest McDonald's, parking the car and getting out.

"Maybe we'll see Shawn here!" She rubs her hands together and shoves her phone in her back pocket. I shake my head no and scoff at her.

"As if Shawn Mendes would be in a random McDonald's." She groans and we both walk in.

"Is this to stay or to go?" She asks as we both march up to the counter.

"To go, I don't want to stay in this dirty place," the cashier clears his throats and cocks his eyebrow at me. My eyes widen and I feel my heart drop. Laura nudges my side, and when I look down, she's trying not laugh.

"May I take your order?" He asks aggressively.

"Laura, order what you want." She smiles at the man, but he remains upset. He eyes me and then looks back down at her.
