"Dear Diary,
Today I have finally finished unpacking my stuff into my new apartment. It's still nearby to my parents bakery, so that's mainly why I got it.
Rumor has it that my old friend from high school, Adrien (he might have been my crush too) used to live here before he... Well... died."
Marinette tapped her pen on her lips as she thought about what she was gonna write next in her diary, to change the subject. It hasn't been long since he committed suicide, and it's definitely still a sensitive subject. And it broke her heart to think about it. But she couldn't get it out of her head.
"I miss him, we all do, and I wish I could have told him how I felt about him sooner. Maybe, if I wasn't such a coward in high school, maybe we would have ended up together, and he wouldn't have killed himself.
I feel like it's all my fault, like I was the one who could have stopped this all from happening.
But I didn't.
And it breaks my heart more and more everyday knowing that I'll never get him back."
Marinette put the pen down and closed her tear stained diary. She wiped her eyes and went into the bathroom. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her mascara ran down her cheeks. She didn't wipe it off. Why would she? She was only going to cry again about it later.
She went into her living room and turned on the tv, and watched whatever was on. Just not the news, she'd probably be reminded of what happened, and she wanted to not think about it. Just for a while.
In the middle of watching a cartoon, the tv screen went static. So, Marinette walked over to inspect it. Everything was fine. Then her landline began to ring, which was odd, because it was plugged in, but not set up yet, so it was basically a shell.
Marinette went to go answer it, like some idiot in a horror film.
"Hello?" She asked. "Who are you?"
She heard nothing coming from the other end. So she disconnected the call. And unplugged her landline from the wall.
Then her tv shut off. And her lights began to flicker. Marinettes eyes widened in horror. She was being haunted.
"Hello?" She said aloud.
"Hello can you hear me?" She said to the lights. Her fear grew more and more, and her eyes welled up with tears.
"P-please," she begged. "Please don't hurt me."
And that's when it all stopped.
Well, that was until her diary began floating mid air, and the pages were turning on its own. Until it stopped. It stayed open for a few more seconds and closed loudly. It was then thrown on her couch.
"What the hell is going on?" She thought out loud.
Just then, a bright white light engulfed the room. And a transparent image of Adrien was in front of her.
