Grayson's POV

"Yo, Gray!" Ethan shouts to me. "You gonna come and workout with me or what?!"

"I already did it this morning when you were sleeping like a log!" I yell at him, rolling my eyes as I search through our bookshelf to find the second tube of fake blood that I had bought. One side of my jean pockets asymmetrically bulge out as I stuff the tube into it, praying that Ethan doesn't stroll into our living room. Then I grab a metal baseball bat that I also secretly purchased under Ethan's nose, awkwardly holding it close to my body.

"Hey...E?! I'm going out to water the plants!" I inform, trying to not let my voice giveaway anything.

A moment of silence ripples through before my twin brother answers me.

"Okay! But stop doing dad shit!" His voice cackles at the end.

Douchebag.

"This prank better work..." I mutter to myself, heading to the sliding door that leads to the backyard.

Alexis' POV

"Fuck!" I hiss under my breath, clinging to the fence before I fall to the ground.

Once my mind settles in my new surroundings, I plant my feet down to the dirt bed beneath me. A spectacular mountain view- loathing in sunlight- is displayed to the right of the shimmery aqua swimming pool. Two floaties, a turtle and pineapple, quietly sit on the surface of the water, waiting for people to relax on them.

Then I notice a little dip in the ground level. Long patches of tall and dry grass sprout up from the pale dirt, creating a perfect hiding spot for me. Once more, I look back to the window in paranoia, and realizing that Grayson has likely kept his brother occupied, I crouch down and hide in the little ditch.

The red tube of fake blood is still encased in my hand, as I continue to contemplate when to put it to use. I check my phone again cautiously to see if there's any updates on the whereabouts of each twin, but to my dismay I see no notifications on my lock screen. It leaves this decision solely up to me and instinct, whether or not I should use the blood yet.

A sudden blur flies past me, bluntly hitting a boulder that's behind me. My arms prop me up so I can see who or what caused a foreign object to nearly fracture my face. On the spot, I angrily settle to kick whoever's ass decided to throw something at me. I look slightly up and to the left, realizing Grayson had tried (and failed) to grab my attention.

"Why haven't you used that yet?" He points to the tube squeezed in my hand.

I notice his baseball bat. "Why do you have that?" My question throws him off.

He stammers, "I-I asked you f-first."

"Um, hello? Don't you want good timing? What if Ethan takes forever to see whatever the hell you're trying to do to me?"

"Alexis." Grayson narrows his eyes. "Just put on the freaking blood so I can start my acting," he asks, this time with a little more pleading in his tone.

"You're so needy," I stick out my tongue playfully. "But only because the prank's going save both of our asses..."

"Mostly yours, but whatever," Grayson retorts.

I untwist the cap of the tube, squeezing some of the red substance into my hands. Then I target my head area, knowing that Grayson has planned to bludgeon me in the head with that damn bat of his. My hair ends up getting soaked with red and clumps of the fake blood, horrifically realistic like a real murder victim. I smear more blood at the back of my head to make it appear more convincing, and then letting some blood make its way to my face.
