Chapter 1

"Dude your cheating, theres no way you could have beat me." Mark exclaimed as he threw the controller down in anger. "Im not cheating its all skill, your just bad at the game." Anthony laughed as he set the controller down. "Could you guys keep it down? Im trying to read here and it doesn't help when you guys are shouting ." Tyler said. "Come on , loosen up Ty , its the weekend , here take my turn ." Mark said as he handed him his controller.

"Thanks but no thanks , i would like to stick to my book if you don't mind?" Tyler looked at the controller in disgust , shoving his nose back into the book. The three boys, being sophomores in high school had been best friends since kindergarten, and ever since they had done everything together , from science projects to sleep overs.

"How about we go outside and play some basketball, we could do a free for all?" Mark asked looking at both of the boys for an answer. "How about i stay and read my book , and you two go play basketball?" Tyler said as he kept his eyes on the book. "Fine suit yourself, but if you want to have some "actual fun" you know where to find us ." Mark stated as he and Anthony walked out the door." Tyler continued reading , slowly feeling his eyes shut repeatedly before he closed them falling asleep. He was awoken by the sound of the television as he sat up, sliding his fingers through his slick, black hair. He was listening to what appeared to be a news report about a virus, transported from over seas that slowly deteriorates your brain cells, causing memory loss, nausea, violent behavior, and in some cases death. Tyler looked over to the comforter next to him to see Anthony's mom lightly smile at him then focusing back to the Television. Tyler stood up then walked over to window, to see that Mark and Anthony were still playing basketball.

He Walked outside then slightly leaned against the basketball goal. "Have you guys heard of this new virus thats spreading, it seems pretty serious."Tyler looked at them worried. "Yea , I heard about on the news, Im pretty sure it came from Japan." Anthony said holding you ball in his hands. "YOU watch the news?" Mark smirks grabbing the ball from Anthony's hands and shooting it. "Well my mom does, and its interesting from time to time" Anthony says as he playfully pushes Mark so he misses the shot. "Come on guys, this is serious im just saying we should be careful is all." "Don't worry Ty, we'll be alright" Mark says as he slightly laughs. "Whatever you say guys" Tyler says as he picks up the ball and misses a shot. "Nice" both boys say simultaneously as they all laugh.
