Diana's Pov:

After preparing the food, it was finally time to get ready for everyone to come over. I ran upstairs into my room, getting into the shower. I showered as quickly as I could, and get out. I wrapped the towel around myself walking into the bedroom. My mom was standing by the bed. "What are you doing?" I asked. She looked at me awkwardly. I hugged my towel more tightly afraid that she might see me. "I bought you some earrings." She said. I walked towards her, taking the small box from her hands. I opened it to see a pair of small silver earrings. "Thier beautiful, thank you mom." I said. She nods, "They're a peace offering. I really am sorry for the way I behaved." She said. I nod, she cressed my face, and smiled. "Alright. I better go. They will be here soon." She said walking out of my room. I took a deep breath, drying off. I pulled on a pair of undergarments grabbing a pair of leggings from my dresser, that hugged my baby bump making it look slimmer. I grabbed an over sized pink knitted sweater, pulling it over my head. I brushed my hair, blow drying it, then pulling it into a side fish tail braid. I applied a small amount of make up, putting on the earrings mom gave me. I grabbed a pair of socks and my ugg boots putting them on. After I finished, I walked downstairs. My mom stood beside Chad in the kitchen, making sure we had everything. Turkey, Ham, Stuffing, Pastas, sweat potatoes, and pickle wraps. I loved pickle wraps. "Who's your friend that is coming over?" Chad asked. I picked up a pickle wrap, bringing it to my lips, taking a bite. "Hunter. They just moved in on Maple street. I met him, at the store when I was getting this stuff." I said taking another bite of the pickle wrap. Chad nods, "Alright. And his parents?" Chad asked. "It's just his dad. And he got offered this new job but I don't know where he works." I said. The door bell rang, I stood up running to the door. I opened it to see a smiling faces. "Hi," I smiled at Hunter and the older gentleman standing behind him. "Diana, this is my father Steven." He introduced us. "Dad, this is Diana. She's a friend, I met." Steven smiled at me. Stepping forward, giving me a hug. "It's nice to meet you. Thank you so much for inviting us to join you." He said. "It's brought some whine, from my whine collection. I didn't know what else to bring." He said. "It's perfect," My mom answered. "I'm Diana's mother, Lizzy. And this is my fiancé Chad." She stepped forward shaking hands with Steven. Chad did the same, offering him a small smile. "Welcome to the neighborhood!" Chad said. "Thank you." Hunter and Steven both said. "Well, come on in. We are happy to have you." My mom said. Steven handed her the whine, as Chad led the way into the living room. I smiled at Hunter, sitting across from him on the couch. "Diana said, you got offered a new job?" Chad asked Steven. Steven nodded, "Yes, here at Melton Inc." He said. Chad smiled, "I work there. When do you start?" Chad asked. "The Monday after Thanksgiving weekend." Steven answered. My mom and Chad nod. Chad and Steven fall into a separate conversation about work. "So, Hunter, what grade are you in?" My mom asked. "Senior." He said. My mom smiles. "Any collages in mind?" She asked. "Missouri." I look up at him and he meets my eye contact. "Really?" I ask. He nods. "Yeah, it's a fantastic school." He said. I felt my cheeks blush. The door bell rang again, "That will be Arendle and Patrick." My mom said standing up. I mentally groan, as she walked out. Hunter stood up, sitting next to me. I could hear Kris, talking to my mom. I stood up, pulling Hunter after me. We went into the basement to the family room. I turned on the lights, and Hunter chuckled. "Aha, this is amazing." He said looking around the room. "My mom designed it, after my dad left." I said. Hunter glances at me and nods. Thankfully he doesn't say anything else. There was a wide hall area, that had a hammock that connects from one wall into the other. With glow in the dark said stars, on the wall and celling. Beside it was a small bar area. That led into a larger room, that had a pool table under a light that changed colors. There was a air hockey table, a basketball basket hunk on the wall. There was also a dancing pole in the middle of the room. In the far corner was a large bar. A few couches lined a lined along the wall. There was a small door, behind it was a panel that controlled the music and the lights. "You're Mom, has amazing talent." Hunter said. He picked up a picture of me and Kris. "Is she you're best friend?" Hunter asked facing me. I shake my head, walking towards him. "We were." I said. Hunter gives me a questioning look. "It's a long story." I said. He sits down, patting the spot beside me. "I've got nothing but time." He offered. I sat down, taking a deep breath. "When I was eight, my mom and dad got a divorce because my dad was cheating on her with Bella. When they finalized the divorce, I was going to spend the summer with my dad and come back the weekend before school." I paused. "And it was like that for a while. My mom dated a lot of guys, for a long time and I think it was because she was scared that she would get hurt again. Then she met Chad. Before that she was never around so I spent most of my time with Kris." I said. He nods, as if saying that is could continue. "There is this guy Tyler. He's really popular and well player. And Kris wants to be popular. Apparently, being friends with me wasn't going to get her there. So she told me, that I was pathetic and she hated being my friend. The person that is with my mom is the fake person she was pretending to be with me. But when we are alone, she is are bitch." I shake my head. Hunter nods, "So now. We're not friends. I kinda hate her and she kinda hates me. And Tyler, he's well complicated." I said. "Do you like him, too?" He asked. I shake my head, "I don't but I kinda need him." I said. Hunter looks confused. "Why?" He asked. "Like I said, it's so completely and utterly complicated." I look at Hunter and he offers me a small smile. "Well, if it helps, I'm here." He said. I felt my heart flutter a little. He leaned forward, kissing my cheek. I bit my lip, smiling. "We better get back up there." I said. Hunter nodded, "We don't have enough time for my family tree." He winked, taking my hand.
