"This is Blechies," My three new friends had been showing me around town. I didn't have to worry about homework since it was the first day. Carrie popped her gum.

"I'll buy," She said, "Kim, you owe me a pack of gum though," The black haired girl smiled.

"Can do!" The four of us walked into the fast food restaurant. It definally smelt like fast food. Back in my old town I rarely went to fast food places. The three seemed really excited as we went up to the counter.

"You first," Carrie spoke to Kon, "I'm paying so I'll go last," The boy smiled with excitement and ordered his self a grilled cheese with extra cheese. Kim ordered a cheese burger and I looked at the menu. Kim laughed at my confused expression.

"Rarely have fast food?" I responded with a nod.

"Blechies has the best hamburgers and fries!" She seemed excited to shove greasy food items in her mouth. My face lit up with a smile when I saw they actually had salads.

"I'll have a salad," I ordered. Then Carrie stepped forward.

"Add two large fries," She pulled out two twenties and payed for the food. Then we went to wait for our food. I sat on one side with Kon and my other two friends sat on the other side. Carrie started to talk about random things that had nothing to do with me, so I turned to Kon.

"So is the food here really that great?" His face lit up again.

"Heck yes!" Kon said, "They make the best grilled cheese around!" Then his face went sad, "I use to come here and eat grilled cheeses with Kin," I frowned, imagining two younger boys having the time of their life.

"I'm sorry," Before Kon could respond, three laughs filled the restaurant. I frowned. Carrie and Kim's conversation was put on permanent hiatus. All of our faces fell as we watched Grojmen order theirselves food. I looked at Kim to see hurt on her face. Kin was flirting with the cashier. After they ordered, they spotted us. I knew this wouldn't be good. Before I could see if they were coming over, a waiter showed up with our food. He handed us our food. Before any of us could eat, someone rested his elbows on our table. Carrie placed down her napkin and glared at the Grojmen leader.

"Mind if we join you?" In response, Carrie pushed his arms off the table. The short boy lost his balance. Corey caught one arm and Kin caught the other. Carrie got up.

"What do you not understand?" She angrily asked, "I've asked you several times to leave us alone!" Larry looked angry as well. He pushed his friends off and glared at the electric blue haired girl.

"You know why!" He glared. My attention turned to Corey who was watching me. He smirked at me.

"Let's go," Larry growled. Kim stuck her tongue out at Kin and Corey winked at me. Then the Grojmen were gone.

"Good riddance!"

The second day of what many of my peers called 'Hell' seemed like it began as soon as I closed my eyes. I met Kim outside the school building that morning. I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before. Corey's wink came back to haunt me all the time. Why would a boy like him wink at a girl like me?

"You okay?" Kim asked as we entered the doors of Peaceville High[it wasn't a peaceful school].

"Yeah," I yawned. That's when I saw him. Corey Riffin watched me. I couldn't stand it anymore, "I'll meet you and Carrie in a couple minutes," Kim looked at me, worried.

"But Laney-,"

"Please Kim!" I begged. She sighed.

"Alright. Be safe," I watched Kim walk away before going up to the boy of my nightmares.

"What is it?" Those were the first words I would say to the boy I would eventually fall in love with, a boy I should never have associated with. He laughed. It was one of the most beautiful sounds I had ever heard.

"I wanted to talk," He responded, "And you don't seem happy with my motives," Corey smirked at me.

"I want to know something," I crossed my arms, "Why do you keep winking at me?" He smiled.

"Isn't it pretty easy to spot?" Corey said, "I'm interested in you Laney Penn," He stepped closer. I felt his hand touch mine. That got me back into reality.

"Say away," I slapped his hand away, "I'm not your girl or your property," I turned to walk away. He laughed as I headed toward where I was suppose to meet my friends.

"You will be one day!"

Kim placed her bag on the ground. Out of the black bag that was cover in flames came a book. She closed the bag and then got to work on finishing the stupid thing. The table was in the very corner of the library, the only peace-filled area of the school during Second Period. She was ready to have the rest of the thirty minutes to herself. That wasn't suppose to occur.

"Can I?" Kim's heart raced. He was here? Kin Kujira hadn't joined her in the library since the days before he had joined up with the Grojmen. She looked up to look at him.

"Whatever," The sound of him moving the chair filled the library for a minute or two before he was comfortable. He watched his old friend try to read her book. It was hard to focus. Another book now sat on the table. The Grojmen member had brought one with him to read. He picked it up and attempted to read it. Soon he placed his book down and lied his head down, his glasses on the table. Kim's face turned slightly pink. She took her glasses off and placed them next to his. She lied her head down and her hand on the table. Kim watched him through her long midnight black hair. She felt his hand wrap around hers. She slightly smiled, her face bright red. It was nice to see the old Kin again, even if it was only for a couple minutes.

I weaved through the crowd outside of the line for lunches. I headed toward our table and sat next to Kon once I got there. Kim seemed out of it.

"Kim?" I tried to get her attention. She seemed like she was in a whole different world.

"Hello?" Carrie popped her gum, "Kim Kagami!" She was jolted out her daydream. Kim turned toward to her best friend.

"Yeah?" Carrie shrugged.

"Nothing," The Grojmen walked past us, laughing about some type of joke Corey had just said. Kin's laugh seemed really forced. Several minutes later I finished my last bit of my food. I took Kim's trash with me. After tossing my trash away, I turned to see Corey Riffin walking my way. I was frozen in place. Our shoulders bumped as he laughed with Larry. I ran back to my friends.
