An Unexpected Visit

Start from the beginning

"How are you okay with this?" Aaliyah asks her parents, who are smiling and taking pictures of their passed out son.

"He's twenty years old, Liyah. He can make his own decisions." Manny says, stepping away from the couch.

"I'm gonna wake him up, I need to know if he's coming with us or not," Karen says, walking closer to the couch.

"What about the girl?" Manny asks, folding his arms across his chest.

"We'll see when they wake up." She answers, flipping back the comforter a little bit, relieved to see that you do have clothes on.

"She's clothed, thank god." She says before pulling the comforter off of your sleeping bodies and on to the floor.

Shawn hugs you tighter as the warmth from the blanket is no longer engulfing you. You stir at the loss of the comforter and snuggle further into Shawn's chest, still not aware of the other people in the room.

"Shawn, get up!" Aaliyah finally yells as she grabs Shawn's shoulder and shakes it roughly, startling the both of you. You open your eyes and start to rapidly blink, trying to adjust to the light to check your surroundings. The first thing you see is a young teen girl, kneeling in front of you with a giant smirk on her face.

"Hi." She tells you with a wave. You shyly smile back at her, slightly startled.

"Uh...hey?"

"What are you guys doing here? Can you knock, or you know, call?" Shawn asks them, as he sits up and climbs over you, kind of irritated.

"We did! Did you forget about lunch with Timera?" His mom asks him, making him widen his eyes.

"Oh, right. Yeah, I did forget. It's just, with Brian's party last night, that wasn't really on my mind." He says, running his hands through his messy curls before grabbing his shirt from the coffee table and slipping it over his head.

You couldn't help but feel extremely awkward and embarrassed in front of Shawn's family, especially since they're watching your every move.

"Who's this, Shawn?" Aaliyah asks her brother with a smirk still on her face, gesturing to you.

"This is y/n, my girlfriend, who you almost gave a heart attack with your screaming." He says as you get up off of the sofa and stand next to him. He pulls you closer to him comfortingly. He can see how uncomfortable you are by the expression on your face.

"Sorry, you guys are like rocks! We have been here for ten minutes and you didn't wake up at all." Aaliyah tells him with a laugh, walking closer to you.

You look over at Shawn and share an amused smile while the pounding in your head reminds you of all you had to drink last night. "We were just really tired," Shawn answers with a sheepish smile, making his dad roll his eyes.

"Sure, that's what it was."

"y/n, this is my little sister Aaliyah, and my mum and dad." He says to you, pointing to each of his family members before looking back at you with a smile.

"Hi, it's nice to meet you guys! Although I wish it could have been under better circumstances." You say as you glare at your boyfriend, making Karen laugh.

"Yeah, you could have introduced us before! You nearly scarred your sister for life!" His mother says, somewhat jokingly.

"What do you mean?" Shawn asks her, genuinely confused.

"We thought you guys were–"

"No, Dad, shut up!" Aaliyah covers her dad's mouth before he could continue, confusing you and Shawn even more.

"She thought you guys were naked." Karen finishes, making Aaliyah hide her face in her sweatshirt and walk away.

"Ohhhh." Shawn gasps in realization and laughs, making you laugh.

"You guys are SO embarrassing, oh my god," Aaliyah complains as she turns back towards her parents.

You and Shawn continue to laugh, making Aaliyah's face turn redder. Shawn walks over to his sister and wraps his arms around her in a hug. "It's okay, Liyah. We are too young to participate in those activities."

Aaliyah glares at him then she glares at her parents. "Right." She says sarcastically, breaking free from her brothers embrace, standing awkwardly in front of you.

"I can pretend that I didn't hear a word they just said if you want me to.'' You tell her with a big smile, trying to cheer her up and make her feel less embarrassed.

She smiles back at you and you go in for a hug, she immediately hugs you back. "I would never want to participate in those activities with your brother anyway." You whisper in her ear, making her laugh.

"Hey, I heard that!" Shawn says, making you roll your eyes.

"Good."

"I think we'll get along just fine, y/n." She tells you, smirking an annoyed Shawn.
