==================================

The guilt resonated within her entire being. Aerin was a girl of simplicity. She didn't have the luxuries in the world, and she was completely fine with that. Even if she was offered some extra money by Jackson, her other siblings or her parents, she'd usually say no. However, with this situation, she managed to give in, so easily. She massaged her temples as she sat at her desk with a towel wrapping her hair up securely as she looked out the window.

"What's wrong with you, Aerin?" She asked herself, letting out a sigh, leaning back unto the computer chair, typing away at her laptop as she keyed in an entry into her blog. She was famous for her poetry, her lovesick letters to no one in particular. Her little entries that were depressingly relatable. Tonight, it was just as any other night.

"And there I was, pulled into a car that was way too luxurious for my liking. Black sleek exterior that showed sophistication and a hint of mystery. Something that blended with your entire aura, oh so accurately. You offered me a deal, and I said yes. Now i'm sitting here, thinking what's going on with me? For nothing could ever convince me to do something like this ever before. Nothing. No one. Then you come along, and mess that all up for me."

With a sigh, she vents out her frustration, laying down on her bed. She refused to acknowledge the fact that she'd just allowed herself to open up to a man she'd just met, hours ago. She put herself in a vulnerable position where this would either make or break her future. Questions flooded her head, whether or not this sacrifice would truly be worth it.

The next day came within a blink of an eye. The lighting in her room changed from the dark, close to complete darkness that accompanied the night, to bright yellow, orange hues that came in the morning. It was all so exhausting how easily days could turn into months, and months into years. Everything moved so quickly and she really only wished for all of it to slow down.

She put on her black running shorts, as well as a navy blue shirt. Her hair was tied into a braid and her running shoes' laces were tucked into the shoe. Aerin was never the type to go for a run, in fact, she was a homebody. If it was up to her, she'd prefer to never leave home. But with this new situation, she wanted to get out of the house, to get her mind out from the timeframe that was last night, though she knew that her decision would forever stay embedded in her mind.

Her shoes squeaked against the tiling inside the floor before they finally met with the gravel that was outside. She locks the door behind her, thing her keys securely to her shoelaces, adding a chime to her jog as she went for a run around the neighbourhood. Aerin could tell that even they were shocked to see her out. But she couldn't care less, she turned up the volume of her music, passing by a familiar crowd. With her heightened instincts, she could feel the presence of not one, not two, but six different sets of eyes fixated on her and her every move.

With one swift tug, she pulled to someone's chest. Looking up, her eyes meet with those of her, now, fiancée. "Hey." He said with a smile, removing the earpiece from her ears as he proceeds to coil them up, handing them back over to her. Now, not only were the agents watching, but the public, as well as paparazzi.

She could hear the flickering and clapping of the camera shutters. It sent her into her own fast-paced imagination of the entire scenario, she was close to tears. Mark brought her into a hug, rubbing her back gently. "I'll bring you home." He whispered silently. But little did he know, a whole lot more awaited him. The minute Jackson sees him, a punch is sent straight to his jaw, only for the man to be pulled back by his friends, who immediately formed a barrier.

Emotionlessly, she walks up the stairs as commotion slowly unravelled itself downstairs. She watched as friendships fell apart. "It's not real, Jackson." Aerin finally spoke up. All of them looked up while Mark let out a sigh, massaging his jaw. The shouting and the violence came to an end almost immediately. "He's doing it to continue a legacy. I'm doing this for the money. I want to help myself too, J." She spoke simply as tears rolled down her cheeks. Aerin had to convince herself that she was doing this for her own good as well. That was the only way to keep her sane.
