Melody's POV
I've been excited for this all day. Finally we were gonna go to the cottage for the first time this year. Luke's parents dropped him off and exchanged cell numbers with mine to call if Luke "got out of hand".
"Oh please Luke is never out of hand" my mom laughed "he's actually really polite and helpful around here".
"Bring some of that home with you next time" his mother joked.
He then hugged her goodbye before putting his bag into the trunk beside mine.
"You'll need your pillow in the back" I said before he placed it down beside mine.
"How come you don't need yours" he asked.
"I've got mine" I said poking his chest.
"Ok everyone in" my mom shouted walking out of the house.
"Bye daddy" I called as I climbed in the back beside Luke.
"Bye sweetie, have fun" he called back.
I squeezed Luke's hand excitedly as we pulled out of the driveway.
Luke's POV
We all talked for an hour of the drive until Melody started to get sleepy. She wrapped her arms around my waist and put her head down on my chest, still trying to talk.
"It's ok baby, you can fall asleep" I said holding her close "I know you're tired".
"I don't wanna miss anything" she replied.
"Babe you're not gonna miss anything" I said petting her hair.
She seemed satisfied with that answer and snuggled in closer to me, falling asleep.
"If you wanna take a nap too Luke that would be fine. I'll wake you both up when we're almost there" her mom offered.
I nodded shifting my pillow against the window to where I was comfortable, then drifted off to sleep.
