Okay.
This is not crazy. This is completely normal.
I have not gone nuts yet.
"Ma'am you have been in there for about half an hour, is everything okay?" I hear the sale assistant ask me curiously.
"Yeah, I am coming in a sec" I reply back.
It is not completely crazy for a 23 year old, single lady to try out a wedding dress just to know how it feels right?
I mean every girl must have done it once.
I stare at the mirror and feel a bit happy? Sad? I don't really know.
But what I do know is that I look banging in a wedding dress, and maybe that I am a bit mad too.
However, I blame it all on my mum. She is the one who always keeps nagging on me to find my special someone.
She always makes me feel that I am the problem. Okay, it is not my fucking problem that I am a single 23 year old. I want love as much as the next person, maybe even more.
But it is not my fault my standard are high, mom! Thanks to novels of course.
I take off the wedding dress as gently as possible and put my back my casual jeans and white blouse.
"What do you think Ma'am, are you going to take it?" Asks the sales assistant a bit impatiently.
I must admit; I have not been an easy not-bride.
"No thank you, it is not really what I imagined it would be." I reply with as much dignity as I have.
" Do you want to look for something else then?"
"No, not today. Have a good day" I smile gently at her as I go out of the store.
I walk in the streets of New York. People are coming and going. Some seems happy; others seem sad. Some appears to be very busy, yet others appears to be walking aimlessly having no hope to do anything.
A girl is crying her heart out. It seems like she has been broken. Maybe she has been cheated on, or maybe she is the one who cheated.
People watching is one of my favorite things to do. The possibilities of what could be going on in other lives is endless.
This might be because of the nature of my job, being a personal assistant in a gossip magazine makes you notice people unconsciously.
Speaking of my job, I am fucking late, AGAIN!
Speak of the devil and it shall appear, here goes my phone..
I feel it vibrating in my pocket, I take it out and reply immediately.
" I am coming, I am coming! Don't fire me already." I say short of breath since I started jogging as fast as I could. It's not a long walk already but my fantasy of wedding dresses made me late.
"Faster please, Jason wants to make an announcement and he won't do it until you come" Samantha whispers.
Jason is our boss. I am his personal assistant. He is one of the best bosses you could ever ask for. He treats us like we are his younger siblings.
I really am lucky to work under him.
"I am very close, almost there. See you in five minutes" I hang up.
~~~~~~~~~
Seems like I am not really as fortunate as I think.
Jason told us that the magazine has been bought by someone else, and that he is moving out of town.
