Shota Aizawa (Aizawa Shota), is tired, then again he always is. He had just finished working for the night, heading home to get some well deserved sleep.
He lives alone in a two bedroom apartment. Sure it gets lonely at times but he doesn't dwell on that. He was content with how his life was at the moment, rather be alone than live with someone annoyingly loud.
His legs stop working when he comes across a cat. It was small, obviously a young kitten, its fur was caked in blood and dirt. It seems to have been trying to get into the alley before passing out in the middle of the sidewalk. It was alive, that was for sure, its body slowly rose and fell. Now Shota wasn't one to take in strays, they needed attention and affection, not much but enough to be satisfied, and with his lazy personality he doubted he could satisfy it. Plus having a pet was like having a child, they needed to be fed, watered, bathed, disciplined, and more. Not only that but they destroyed things!
But he couldn't bring himself to let the damn thing be. Grunting in annoyance, he picked it up and carried it home with him. He'd take it to a shelter tomorrow, for now he could patch it up and keep it alive.
When he got home he cleaned it off, wrapped it in bandages, and placed it on a blanket in his room to keep warm. He wasn't going to wait for it to wake up, so he went to sleep after placing a small bowl of water beside it in case it woke up.

The next morning Shota woke up and went to handle his morning business. When he walks back in to the room he sees the kitten already awake. It was staring at him with curiosity and caution, not moving one bit. Shota honestly would have mistaken it for a statue had it not been for its slow breathing.
He moves closer to it, taking note of the untouched water. He crouches down in front of it, moving to pet it to get some kind of reaction. The cat simply moves it head down as Shota pets it, no purring or flick of the tail, not even a quiet meow is made.
"Glad to see you're alive," Shota says.
The cat still stares at him, its pupils sharpening every so often. Shota's hand was still resting on its head, so it has to look from underneath it to see Shota. He watches as its opens its mouth, figuring it was about to meow after his talking.
"Thank you."
Shota just stares at it, his mind replaying what it just said. The cat just spoke. Its voice was soft, but it had definitely spoke. The cat begins to shift under his hand, its fur being replaced with hair and its little pink nose being replaced with a human one. The cat was now a little human, a child to be exact.
They had messy shoulder length black hair, with a pair of black cat ears sitting on top, their eyes were still feline brown, and they now wore tattered clothes. Their skin was clean and the bandages that Shota had put on them was still there, some hidden under the clothes they wore. They sat, just as a cat would. Shota couldn't help but wonder if sitting like that hurts.
"...Alright kid, where's your home?" Shota sighs.
He couldn't keep the kid, that's kidnapping, not that he knew it was a kid to begin with. If he had he would have taken them to the hospital and not his home. They haven't moved anymore than when they shifted, not even any of their limbs left the small blanket he had provided.
"What's a home?" the kid asks.
"A place you live to eat, sleep, and stuff." Shota grunts.
"I sleep where ever," the kids states.
Shota grumbles to himself. Of course he would bring home a homeless child, why would he not? Life just seems to hate him.
"What's your name?"
"What's a name?"
Shota restrains himself from cursing aloud.
"What do people call you?" He tries again.
"Fur ball, trash, filth, scum, bit-"
"Stop."
Shota just rubs his eyes, standing up and walking towards his room door. He hadn't even had breakfast yet and he has to deal with life's fuckery. The kid stays were they are, their tail wrapped around their arms and legs.
"Come on kid."
The kid stretches first, earning a few satisfying pops, before standing up and slowly following him. Their steps were light, barely noticeable if Shota wasn't listening for them. They both made it to the kitchen, Shota putting some bread in the toaster while the kid just sits on the floor in the same position as before. They were out of the way so Shota didn't mind.
Shota starts to brew himself some coffee, grabbing a mug from the cabinet and sitting by the coffee machine. He turns, leaning against the counter and looks at the kid again. They were watching the toaster with curiosity, eyes never moving. Shota took notice of their feminine features and small size. The kid could have been more than 6 or 7 years old.
He was highly amused when the kid jumps as the toast sprang up. The kid backs up in an odd manner, their legs moving back first before their arms and hands follow, just like a cat. Shota moves and places the toast on plate with some jam before putting more bread in the toaster.
The kid once again watches the toaster, this amuses Shota once more. The kid acts more like a cat than a person. This was further proven when Shota moves everything to the kitchen table and has the kid sit in a chair. They were sitting in the same cat position as before, but Shota corrects them and has them sit right. The kid even sniffs the toast and jam when Shota placed it in front of them.
"Kid, how old are you?"
The kid shrugs, nibbling on the toast quietly.
"Are you a girl?"
The kid lifts their shirt slightly before opening their pants to see inside. They give a nod of confirmation and let the waist band snap back in place. Shota didn't even want to question it. The kid was something else.
She wasn't hyper like normal kids, but she still held that child like curiosity. She wasn't loud, sneakily quiet more or less. She wasn't smiling but then again she didn't look sad either. Her eyes held all of her emotions. Shota wondered what it would take for her to smile.
That day, Shota ended up not taking her to an orphanage or hospital. She began to live with him as his daughter. Of course he couldn't keep calling her kid so he named her.
