2 small fist crash onto Keith's chest. Again and again, punches land on him. They didn't hurt, so he just let her do it as she ranted on and on about everything that's bothered her, that she's bottled up in the past who knows how long. "Lance is a fucking idiot, Coran expects me to keep my mouth shut about Lotor and Allura sucking faces in our fucking living room, and her fucking mice eat everything! Shiro acts like my Dad, Allura acts like my mom, and Lotor is that uncle that I can't fucking stand. Hunk tries to help but I just can't do this anymore, everything has seemed to go to shit when you left us..."Suddenly the punches stop. He feels his shirt start to dampen as she rest her head on him. "Why did you have to leave us?" And with that she threw her fist once more, harder this time. It was obvious that most of her anger and sadness was directed towards him. He could catch her fist whenever he wanted, he could push her down in the blink of an eye. But she was right. He did leave them. But the next thing she said caught him by surprise. In between blows, Keith heard the words, "why did you leave me?" That's when he grabbed her, making her flinch and look up into his eyes. The sight of her broke his heart. The girls normally bright chocolate eyes seemed torn in half, puffy and red from the tears that streamed down her cheeks. Her usual confident face had a quivering lower lip, and pleading eyes. She smiled sadly. "Y-you left me with Lance" she tried cracking a joke but it just made him even more heartbroken. He did this to her. He broke her. And he had no idea. This girl, his teammate, his friend.. he left her. But why was she so upset? She had Hunk... who was always with her, repairing things and doing stuff that he couldn't even start to comprehend. For some reason the thought of that made him slightly jealous. "Pidge... I'm sorry that I left." He said quietly, hoping to help at least a bit.
Pidges head snapped up, disbelief written all over her face and Keith could tell that he did something wrong.
"That's it? Sorry?? That's all your going to say?"
"Well what do you want me to say?? What could I possibly say to make this better, Pidge, please tell me because it's killing me to see you this hurt.." he said, bending down to cup the small girls face, wiping the tears off of her cheeks.
"I want you to tell me that you love me, Keith!" She paused, avoiding eye contact. "I want you to say that you'll stay, stay with me. I want you to say that I'm not crazy, and that I'm not seeing things when I look in your eyes and feel like you have the same feelings I have." Her voice was desperate and terrified. It cracked every now and then as she tried to hold back tears. She laid another punch, this one softer, almost like she'd given up. "I just want you to stay..." Pidge crumbled into his arms, needing his support to hold her up.
Keith's eyes widen. He never realized that Pidge felt all of that, that he meant so much to her. He didn't realize that this girl needed him, she cared about him. He suddenly hated who he was. He hated himself for being the reason she cries, the reason she feels like the world is crashing down on her. So in that moment he did something that he never realized that he's been wanted to do for months. He grabbed her chin gently, pulling her face up to his. He creased her cheek, bending slightly to land a delicate kiss on her lips. It wasn't much, but it was enough for Pidge. She felt electricity course through her body, in her veins. This boy was like a drug to her and when he left, she thought she was going to die from the withdrawal symptoms.
"I'm going to the Blades tomorrow to tell them I'm staying with Voltron." He said, whispering in her ear. She felt slightly guilty, but when dismissed those thoughts after the next few words were said. The words that she's only heard in her dreams. "I love you, Katie Holt."
