beside you- 5 seconds of summer

We were almost to the point where Rudolph and his friends defeated the Abominable Snowman, and I couldn't take it anymore.

I stood up quickly.

"I have to pee." Michael gave me a weird look, and I shook my head, worry filling his eyes.

"Yeah... uh... me too." He said, getting up and following me.

And we sprinted.

I made it to my room before my cheeks puffed up, and I ran into the bathroom.

My mouth made it to the toilet just in time, Michael right behind me.

I puked right then and there, him holding my hair back and running my shoulder blades like before.

After I was finished, I sat back.

"Do you want Nurse Diane?" He said, running his fingers through my hair.

I shook my head.

"Don't bother her today." I muttered, standing up slowly.

"Are you sure?" He said, looking into my eyes.

I froze.

"Yeah... I-I'm ok." I insisted, finally making my way to my feet.

"Ok. No more hot cocoa." He laughed.

For the rest of the day, we watched movies, played Christmas games, sang Christmas carols, and I even got to kiss Michael under the mistletoe.

I, of course, puked a bit between activities, but Michael was always there to comfort me.

It was now time to receive gifts from the kids at the school.

A few nurses showed up with bags and cardboard boxes.

They first handed out some pots that the kids had made out of clay.

Mine looked really good; it was a bright green mug.

Michael's, on the other hand, looked like a deformed brown cylinder.

I laughed at his gift, making him stick his tongue out at me.

"Oh my gosh, look!" Ashton held up his mug, which was red and had a blue smiley face sloppily painted on the side.

"It's awesome!" He exclaimed, smiling brightly.

I looked over to Luke and Calum's gifts.

Calum had a striped one; it was purple and blue.

Luke had one that had an orange cup with a red handle.

After we finished getting our gifts, the nurses handed out a bunch of pieces of paper.

Cards.

They handed out papers that had sloppy handwriting on them.

Mine was pink, and it had glitter all over the front.

I opened it up, and it had writing on it.

Hello,

I heard that you weren't feeling very okay.

My big brother was in the same place that you are staying now.

He is up in heaven.

But I know that you are a strong person.

You will be okay.

Best wishes,

Maggie, 5th grade, Kingsley Elementary School

I was in tears.

I stared over the mug, flipping it over.

In the same handwriting on the bottom it said: Maggie.

Michael turned around, noticing that I was crying.

"Are you ok? Oh my god." He said, wrapping me in his arms.

I still cried into his chest, but nodded my head.

"What made you cry?" He asked, and began to rock back and forth, comforting me.

I handed him the card.

"Holy sh- Don't cry, don't cry."

I shook my head.

"Th- that little girl.. her brother..."

Maybe I was making a mess, and drawing attention, but my heart was breaking for this girl.

I mean, how old is she?

10? 11?

When i finished crying, my head shot up.

"N-Nurse Diane?"

She heard me, running over.

"What, hun?"

"I have to go visit this little girl."

Is Nurse Diane gonna let Kat go visit Maggie?

Guys.

I'm literally dying.

Like.. I almost have 100 reads!!!!!!

I frickin love all of you so much!!!!!!

Ok, enough crying.

Suck it up, soldier.

Bye!
