A Hairy Conundrum

Okay so I've been doing stuff. Mostly trying to figure out my numerous issues in life.

But all of that negativity aside, I wanted to change my image and dye my hair. As you know I was rocking a nice undercut just like Pete. And I was feeling good. It took me a while to decide on a temporary dye and then I choose this brand here.

My hair was gonna be a cool purple in honor of Fall Out Boy and their MANIA Tour. Mind you I am African American and our hair is a bit tougher to dye all those crazy colors I like.

Anyhoo the box said it would dye my hair without bleaching it. And it would turn out the vibrant purple I was looking for. While also being temporary and washing out with 30 washes. So I was more than willing to give it a try.

Sadly the color didn't even show up in my hair. It just appeared to be a bit darker then my normal shade. As seen here.

Don't worry too much while I was heart broken, I only made that face only because I like being over dramatic 😂😂😂.

Anyhoo, I was already mad that the color didn't show up, but then my hair started to stain purple everywhere. All my hair had to be was a little bit damp and purple dripped all over the place. I was even sweating purple. Sure it was funny at first, but when I ruined hats, bandanas, and pillow cases it was far from fun anymore. As seen below.

Well aside from me not having the color I wanted as well as the dripping purple everywhere. I was still trying to be positive about everything. And wait it out until I washed the color completely out.

That was until my hair started falling out 😭. It started off gradually and I didn't notice that much, but then it got to the point that the back of my head was damn near bald and the front was still long. So I was looking pretty crazy. So I asked my sister to cut my hair. And while I was really sad about it, I was watching this youtuber who analyzes song lyrics. And his name is The Pop Song Lyric Professor. You guys should really check him out.

Well beside that little plug for him, he loves TØP and I feel that he does a great job analyzing their music. Pretty much something he said about why he thinks Tyler shaves his head (Car Radio, Levitate) was that he doesn't value vanity like society does and so he shaves his hair to make himself "ugly" or not what's socially accepted in order to get back to himself or keep his head grounded so to speak. Long explanation aside it made me feel pretty for once. Like to be honest I hate myself.....always have. But to hear such a sweet yet simple thing like that, something that Tyler would say.

Honestly it all just made me cry. So then I decided that it wasn't the end of the world to cut all my hair off. I've done it before, but this time I felt empowered and meaningful. So I feel happy to show you guys my new look.
