"Chris was a good man..." the guy up the front started, making you looked down at your shaking hands. Tears welled in your eyes and you had to control your crying so that it wouldn't be loud. You looked at Seb who sat beside you, tears stained his cheeks. You took his hand.
You remembered the last time you saw Chris, he was leaving your house, you'd hugged goodbye quickly, not knowing it would be your last. Seb blamed himself, he was with Chris when it happened. The pair were walking out of a bar when two masked guys had approached them, demanding money.
When Seb said no they got violent, one hitting Seb on the back of the head, knocking him out. Chris fought back, just making matters worse. Seb woke up to a crowd of people around them, nobody had bothered to call an ambulance, his best friend in a pool of blood. He had tried to wake Chris up then tried to shield his body from people trying to take pictures.
Most people were outraged by their actions, #•justiceforchris was trending on Twitter, a nice sentiment for the moment. Your chest heaved but your heartbreak was nothing compared to Seb's.
