A week later

The sky above begins to drizzle, soft, warm and little raindrops, falling in line, gently, carelessly hitting the earth, moistening it in their line. Once in a while, as the rain gains its strength, hitting the ground below with more speed and roughlessness in their action, Rays of the purest light, sent by the sun as it shines above the darkening. Raindrops continue to hit the ground and leaves from the trees, beginning to get rough every second. August walked through the woods with an umbrella above his head, enjoying the scenery and prettiness of the rain as he continue to walk through puddles with his boots while raindrops landed on his jacket.

August began to forget about his encounter with the mysterious creature. While walking through the woods, he was hoping to see them again, he dident know why but he felt something and wanted to see if they were ok. After a few moments of walking through cold and wet puddles, he saw in the corner of his eye, Jasper was sitting on the ground under a tree, holding something in his lap. A baby fox. The fox was whimpering and cold as its paw was badly damaged, Jasper held him as he looked down at the baby fox as there was nothing he could do. They were both cold and wet. August closed his umbrella.

"H-Hey.." muttered August. Jasper looked up.

August noticed the injured baby fox and ran towards Jasper. August looked at the fox's paw, there was a large cut that seemed to be from another animal as it continued to bleed out slowly. August gently picked up the baby fox who was almost unconscious, Jasper whimpered and looked at August. Thunder stroke as a tree was heard falling nearby.

"Come on, I'll get us to safety."

August grabbed Jasper's hand and started running, Jasper looked up at August's serious but caring expression on his face as Jasper's freckled cheeks turned a light shade a pink. They soon arrived at August's house, muddy and wet. August breathed heavily as he took off his boots and dropped his umbrella on the tiled floor, he held the baby fox in his arms while walking up the stairs. Jasper following. They enter August's room, August closes the door while he lays the baby fox on his bed and grabs the first aid kit in the process, bandaging the creature's paw as Jasper sits quietly near the door looking around the room in curiosity.

Afterwards, the baby fox was now fast asleep on a pillow with a bandage wrapped around its paw, August sat on the bed in relief and look up to smile at Jasper. Jasper walked closer and sat down in front of August, looking up into his eyes. August smiled.

"Im glad to see you again. sorry for rushing you all the way down here, I just cant stand animals in danger." He chuckled softly, soon fading away quickly.

Jasper looked down, until he could feel August petting him behind the ears.

August's eyes widened.

"Oh, I never told you my name. You can call me August."

Jasper looked up and stared into August's eyes as a sound released from his mouth.

"A-August.."

He muttered softly, It was a soft and shy-ish voice. Almost like a young teen. he backed away slightly. He had never tried saying any type of English before, He just felt so surprised. He looked back at August, watching him smile and giggle.

August smiled at him as Jasper couldn't help but blush nervously. August looked out of his window at the storm outside as he could see the sky becoming darker as night fell upon them.

"Looks like were gonna be in here for a while..."

Jasper looked up.

"You can stay for the night if you want until the storm clears."

August smiled as Jasper nodded happily and slightly blushed, his tail waging a little bit. August petted him and felt that his hair was still wet from the rain, he noticed and stood up, walking to the door.

"Im just gonna get a towel, just stay here, i'll only be a second."

Jasper was silent but nodded shyly until August walked out of the room.

About a minute later, August walked back in and saw Jasper looking at a small blue bird in a cage placed in the corner of August's room. Jasper was silent, looking at the bird through the cage. The bird was looking back at him in curiosity. August smiled and threw the towel to Jasper to make him look away from the bird, The towel landed on his antlers as he picked it up. August walked to the cage as Jasper dried himself, August unlocked the cage and closed his bedroom door as the bird flew up to the ceiling, flying around in circles until it landed on August's shoulder.

After about an hour, August was crossed legged on his bed with a sleeping Jasper on his lap. He looked outside his window at the rain, he had been so cheerful, kind and unaware of the consequences when Jasper was around. But deep down, he wasn't ok. He stared blankly outside at the poring rain, wondering what he was gonna do about Jasper. He shrugged it off and figured he'd wait until he got to know them.
