We fall in love with the idea of perfection. We create these ideas of perfect relationships and that's why people say "love is blind." Because these ideas, our wants and desires, are what we fall in love with. This is why so many young girls get caught up in the wrong things. A guy says a few "sweet-nothings" to her and she's head over heels instantly. Or even guys with girls. Or anyone honestly. They'll do things they regret, say things they regret, and get in their feels. They get caught up in this desire for love, a perfect love. We ignore the red flags, we ignore the reality, we ignore the truth. We don't love the person, we love the idea of a perfect person. Rather than getting to know someone, we just assume. We assume they're exactly what we see them in our minds to be, what we hope they'll be. But let's do something new, something right. Let's start loving people for who they are rather than what we desire them to be.
