A week later, Peter was back home at the tower. While he was on the tip, he heard some whispers about the Avengers going to hell. He thought it was just some random haters who didn't believe in the heroes.

Peter walked into the tower and greeted the receptionist. He walked to the elevator and clicked the button. He waited until the elevator came. He got on. The doors were about to close but a woman dressed in black grabbed the door and opened it. She also walked in. Peter smiled and clicked the 17th floor button after swiping his badge. The lady pressed the 16th. Peter was confused.

"Excuse me?" Peter got her attention. "The 15th floor and up is for authorized people only." He shower her his Avengers Tower lanyard where it had his name, date of birth and a picture of him. Also with a barcode type thing.

"I know." She smiled. There was a hint of something else in her smile. As if he was being warned to stay away from her. She pulled out a badge and swiped it.

The elevator started moving. But then it stopped on floor 15, the main lounge of the Avengers.

"FRIDAY? Why'd the elevator stop?" Peter questioned.

"There's been a breach in security." The American voice of FRIDAY answered.

"Does Mr. Stark know?" He didn't even notice that the woman was doing something on the button pad.

The elevator started going down. It opened on floor 14 and the lady stepped out. She turned to Peter and smiled wickedly. The doors snapped shut and the elevator started going crazy.

Peter panicked. He went on the button pad, swiped his badge and clicked the 'contact' button.

It started calling Peter.

"Hey, Pete. What's up?" Tony answered.

"Dad! T-The elevator won't stop! I was going to floor 17 so I could put my stuff down but this lady walked in. Blah, blah, blah. Long story short, she did something and now it won't stop! I keep going up and down and theres a creaking noise!" Peter yelled.

"Peter, calm down. I'm fixing it right now." Tony made some holograms pop up and he started fixing it.

"Please hurry!"

Peter grabbed his stuff closely to his chest. Something was wrong. His Spidey sense was tingling but he couldn't tell if it was from the elevator going crazy or something else. Turned out, it was something else. He started feeling dizzy. He fell onto his knees. There was a scent he couldn't tell what was. He could hear a muffled voice yelling for him. He opened his eyes that he didn't even know he shut and saw that they were on floor 15. Peter could hear more voices yelling at him. But to him it only sounded like a mix of noises. The doors weren't open yet but someone was trying to pry them open. The smell became more clear to him.

Smoke.

There was a timer on the wall. It ticked down to zero.

There was an explosion. Inside the elevator. Where Peter was trapped.

The doors were finally fragile enough to open.

Smoke leaked out of the elevator. Bucky was the one to go in and grab Peter. He would've been dead if he didn't have his strength.

"We need a hospital!" Bucky yelled as he pulled the fragile, unconscious body out of the smoke.

Tony got on the phone with 911. "We have an emergency! There was an explosion inside the Avengers Tower. My son is hurt. This is Tony Stark! Get your asses over here and get my son to a hospital!" Tony yelled into the phone.

Once he hung up, he walked over to Bucky, who was holding Peter's body tightly to his chest.

"Barnes." He tried getting his attention. It wasn't working. "Barnes!" He yelled louder. Still nothing. "James Buchanan Barnes!" Bucky finally looked at him. Tears were dripping down his eyes onto his cheeks, and some landed on Peter's weak body. "Lay him down on the couch." Bucky did what Tony said and carefully laid Peter on the couch.

"Take it away." Bucky mumbled.

"Take what away?" Steve asked, walking over to his friend.

"The pain! His pain!" He cried.

"He's unconscious. We don't know what he's feel—"

"I know when my brother is in pain! I was with him for seven months! I know! Even with his eyes closed, I could tell he was in pain because I know him! He was in pain when I was in pain, getting mind wiped! And now I'm in pain watching him! So take it away! Please... I can't—I can't do it without him. Please." He looked around at everyone. His eyes stopped at Wanda.

She shook her head, already knowing what he wanted.

"You can cause pain. Now take it away."

"I can't."

"You're brother hurt my brother. He has a metal arm because of it! And I swear to you, if you help him, I will find your brother." He begged. "Please."

Wanda hesitated but walked over to them. She started using her powers to do her best to take away Peter's pain.

Once she was done, Peter looked slightly more relaxed, if that was possible.

The ambulances came and Wanda had to float him down the stairs because the elevator was destroyed.

They took Peter to the hospital and into some scans first to see what happened.

Bucky just stood there and watched it all happen.

First his brother was infected and was about to die. Then he got a metal arm, just like what Bucky didn't want to happen in the first place. Then he thinks he's going crazy. And now this. Bucky actually thought he was cursed. He was kidnapped and injected with a serum. Then Steve found him and they went on missions together. Then he fell off a train and 'died'. Then after about 70 years of cryo-freeze, he's back. He met Peter Parker. His life changed. He was able to go back to Steve and have somewhat of a normal life. But now his savior was dying. His brother was dying. It was all going back to hell.

Bucky didn't even realize he was sobbing until Steve wrapped his arms around him and he started sobbing into his shoulder. Steve kept saying it would be okay and that Peter would get better. He thought it was all lies. No matter how many people took pictures of them from the hospital, he didn't care. He just wanted his brother back.

TWO WEEKS LATER

It was noisy. People talking. Machines beeping. Someone... crying? He didn't know. He opened his eyes. It was bright out. Probably around 1 or 2 pm. He slightly heard birds chirping. He looked down at his body. Bandages around his arms, legs, chest, shoulder, abdomen, everywhere. Wires, tubes, and more were also there. He was truly in pain. Even with the painkillers going through his system. Thanks to his mutation, the effect lasted less time than what they're supposed to. He tried talking but his throat was dry. It felt like sandpaper. He couldn't call for someone. So he started moving around. Someone finally caught on.

A blond muscular guy stepped into his view. He looked tired but also not? He looked good. He had a slight beard. The man started talking.

"Hey." He spoke quietly. "Welcome back, Peter."
