MAYA
I'm fine with perpetual. For the past three years of high school, nothing much has changed since day one. It's now the beginning of junior year— I'm standing outside of Topanga's, waiting for two lovebirds, Riles and Lucas.

"Peaches! You're early!!" Riley exclaims, bracing me in a hug as I turn around glaring.
"And it's TOO early. Let's order our coffee."
My best friend and I wait in the typical long line, while she rants about how amazing the days gonna be. After listening to her chirpy speeches for about 10 minutes, we finally approach the baristas. Riley and I get our usual, of course not forgetting Lucas, then accompany a table.
"Who's ready for the first day of the year?" Huckleberry walks up to us with a smirk.
I glance over at Riley, and I already observe how much her mood brightens. You may think third wheeling your best friends for three years in a row is horrible, but nothing makes me more ecstatic than their happiness and the scent of coffee.
Riley plants a kiss on his cheek, and intertwines hands with both of us as we walk to school. Everything's okay, and everything's the same.
