Ricky:

He grabbed my arm to stop me, just as a bike drove by. We continued walking. It had taken a very long time, but we had found out where they lived. James volunteered to go with me, and I was thankful for it.

Monarch had given us a little time in order to get our affairs in order before we partook in the newest expedition. We were going to be facing new dangers, and if I die, I at least want Gunpei's family to know what had happened to him before I go.

We reached the door. I clung to the Katana and the little picture. My fist raised to knock on the door, but it swung open before I could. There was a young woman, who reminded me of Gunpei. I held out the Katana in respectful silence. She looked at it for a moment, not understanding.

"Who are you?" She asks, her voice fluctuating.

I was taken aback. How did she know English?

"I'm Ricky. I knew your father. Can I speak with your mother?" I ask, trying to be polite.

"Please, come in." She whispers.

James and I enter, and are ushered over to a table. An older woman comes, and sits down with us. As soon as she sees the Katana, tears well in her eyes. She begins shouting things in another language.

"My mother wants to know, how you know of my father." The younger translates.

"His plane went down on an island. He survived there for some time, with an American man named Hank Marlow. My parents crashed a few months later. I was born on the island. A long while later, there was an explosion. It killed my parents, and woke up a monster. Gunpei Ikari died with honor, fighting that monster." I declare, the younger woman translating my words.

They both had tears in their eyes, and I was failing at hiding mine. James takes my hand in his, drawing the older woman's attention. She says a few things while pointing at James.

"My mother wants to know what he had to do in all of this." The younger translates.

"I was part of an expedition that went to the island a month ago. Most of the people who went, were killed. We just barely made it out. Ricky almost died, trying to kill one of the creatures that killed your husband and father." James replies.

"I came here, because you both should know the truth. He was a very brave man. He loved you both so much." I explain.

A tear falls down my cheek. Both women are crying, and I feel a pang in my chest. The older woman stands, taking my hand. She pulls me away from the others, whispering words.

James:

"What's she doing?" I ask, rushing after them.

"She wants to give Ricky one of my fathers Katana's to say thank you." The daughter replies.

I relax slightly, but continue to follow them. When I enter the room, I know to be quiet. Candles are lit, and swords are hung and displayed. Ricky is on her knees, holding a beautiful sword. All down the blade, are Japanese symbols. Ricky's eyes are red from crying.

"She wants you to have it." Whispers the daughter.

"I couldn't." Ricky begins.

"Keep. Keep. You Keep." Urges the older woman.

Ricky tears up again, and hugs the older woman. Then she hugs the younger woman.

"Thank you." She whispers, over and over again.

"No. Thank you. You came here instead of going on with your life. You took the time to find us and tell us. That can never be repaid." The daughter says.

"We are going back." I whisper, earning a wide eyed stare.

"Why?" The younger asks.

"There's another island. We are going on a mission to rescue someone who was stranded there." Ricky answers.

"I want to come with." The younger proclaims.

She tells her mother, and her mother just shakes her head and shouts. The daughter shouts too.

"Please, we couldn't ask you to-" Ricky whispers.

"You aren't. I'm volunteering of my own will." She interjects.

She leaves with us, not looking back at her mother. My head swims with dark thoughts of returning here to deliver more bad news. I push them away, not wanting to think about death any more.
