She did her normal routine: got up and pressed the button on her alarm, she then stretched and her back clicked. A loud yawn and up she got. Went to the bathroom, washed her face and did her makeup. Went back into her room and got dressed. She hated the uniform. Black nylon tights, pencil skirt, neatly ironed white long-sleeved shirt, red and black stripy tie and a black blazer with her school logo on it. She put it on all, and sighed whilst getting changed. She rolled up her skirt so it was nice and short, rolled up the sleeves of the blazer, made her tie mini because everyone did. She then brushed her long brown hair. Looked in the mirror one last time and knew she was ready. She then picked up her black Ted Baker handbag and off she went.

She waited at her bus stop, her bus was late again, but the 410 buses were always late, so she didn't expect much. Her arm went out to signal the bus to stop. The bus pulled over and the doors swung open. She showed the driver her bus card. And up the stairs she went to sit with her friends.
"Hey Emily, new bag I see, it's amazing!" yelled Megan, that was Emily's partner in crime, Megan and Emily were inseparable, they did everything together, you could almost say they were sisters.
"Aww thanks Megs, yeah it is, being the last year of school, I thought I should start the school year in style" proudly replied Emily.
"Well it's amazing, gosh I wish my parents would get me stuff like this, your bare lucky" replied Megan, sounding jealous.
"Ha yeah, ugh I wasn't ready for this morning, I fucking hate half seven wake ups, when's the weekend?" asked Emily, sulking
"The weekends in like 2 days hun, you can do this" replied Megan, she always knew how to make Emily's day a little bit better.

After about 20 minutes on the bus, they finally arrived at their secondary school. Quite big, one of the biggest in the country, the old building which you saw as you entered wasn't the prettiest of sights, it was starting to crumble. And there were a few broken windows too.

Megan and Emily walked through the rusting black gates as they entered hell. But they both knew it wasn't for long, 8 months to be precise. It was their final GCSE year, prom was this year too
"I can't believe its our last year here, to think we've had so many memories together" said Megan gazing into the distance.
"Geez don't go all sentimental on me when we haven't even entered the building" replied Emily, laughing. The bell rang and they knew it was time to make their way to their depressing classrooms. They had to part ways as they had different tutors.

Emily sat down in her usual spot, right in the back in the corner, she always sat there so she could text Megan. After she sat down, flocks of other students came in. You had the nerds Al coming in, then the mega popular people, the smokers and druggies, and the quiet, book worm people. They all came in and sat down, talking, laughing and reading. Their teacher was late, but that was nothing new.

5 minutes later their teacher, Miss Smith, comes striding into the room grasping the new timetables for the class.
"Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful summer, unfortunately its school now, so it means lessons and homework, but it's also prom year so you should all look forward too that..." Miss Smith always gave a really lobg winded speech to begin the acedemic year, everyone was yawning and already wishing they were in bed. Anyways after the speech Miss Smith gave out the timetables and spoke to the class about how the year would be the most important year of their lives and she also spoke about prom too.

The bell rang a second time, this meant it was break, the sound of chair squeaking across the floor, and people pushing everyone to get out the class just so they can get a few minutes of extra break and avoid the canteen que's. Emily and Megan usually met up during first break. Always outside the canteen. But for some reason, Megan wasn't there.
'I wonder where she is' thought Emily, she kept texting Megan, but all she did was read her messages and didn't reply. Emily was staring to get annoyed, it was already 5 minutes into their break, and Megan's class were always let out on time. Emily then gave up waiting and just sat inside the canteen on their table. She let Megan know where she was. But Megan still didn't reply, and this put Emily in a bad mood, at least she knew she'd see Megan in drama class so she could have a go af her then.

~15 minutes later~

The bell rang a third time, this was to tell the students that break was over and it was now lesson time. Emily stormed off to drama, she knew exactly what she would say to Megan, and it wouldn't be pretty. She could see the drama studio and Megan standing outside, except she was with someone, and it looked like a new student.
"Hey Megs, where were ya at break?" Emily asked.
"Oh shit, sorry, I forgot, I was showing Lacey around the school, she so cool though, she smokes and has been kicked out of school so many times" Megan replied is awe
"That's nothing to be proud of" Emily snapped back
"You fucking jealous bruv" yelled Lacey, staring Emily down
"No, as a matter of fact I'm not, to be honest with you, I'm glad I'm not you, at least I know I will be accepted by more people and not just by the likes of you" replied Emily in a sassy tone. "Now, if you don't mind I need to get to drama, I enjoy my class and I won't let someone like you bring me down, good day" Emily said sarcastily. Lacey kept staring at Emily till she entered the studio.
"I'm gunna kill that bitch" Lacey said under her breath.
