It was Friday, and Emily did her normal routine again. She caught her normal bus, sat in her normal place, everything seemed normal. That was till she got to her maths class and found out that Lacey was there.
"Oh Emily, I didn't realise you were in this class, thought you would be in one of the lower sets" laughed Lacey
"haha very funny" Emily replied, she knew she was one of the best in her class and she wasn't about to be bought down by Lacey.
The door swung open and nearly hit Lacey, Emily couldn't help but laugh a little. The teacher gestured the class to come in, and they all did. There was a seating plan up on the board, the school was known for their annoying seating plans. But this seating plan wasn't just annoying, it was by far the worst plan ever. Emily was sat next to lacy.
'Just my luck, sat next to that bitch, she'll probably want all the bloody answers too' thought Emily. But there was no use trying to complain, she knew that if she tried to complain the teacher would only get mad. So she had to sit there, whether she liked it or not.
"Right everyone take your seats, these will be your seats till gcses commence. And if anyone complains I'll give all of you extra homework" yelled Miss Lloyd, she was the Head of maths, she was tall and skinny, she had brown hair which she wore in a bun, she had triangular glasses and a pointy chin. She was always loud, and everyone thought she enjoyed giving out detentions, and worst of all her room always smelt of coffee. Emily dreaded coming to this class, it was the worst of them all, and Miss Lloyd always seemed to pick on Emily for the answers, even if she didn't know them. "So I know this is your first maths class since the summer holidays, and your all really tired still, some even suffering from yet lag. But that's not an excuse. I refuse to. Go easy on you. No student who has been with me has ever failed, so by God, if any of you make me loose my streak, you will all be to come into school and explain yourselves" Said Miss Lloyd. Emily has had her since she started secondary school, and she always gave the same speech andv she never paid attention to them.
"Hey Em, can I have pen please, I don't have one" Asked Lacey quietly.
"No this is my only one" Replied Emily.
"What do you mean that's your only pen, you should be more equipped, you should carry at least 3 pens with you. But it's alright, seeing how prepared I am, I'll let you have my spare pen" Yelled Lacey, Emily went bright red, the whole class just stated at her, some of them were even laughing. How was this, it was only 20 minutes into the day, and already she wanted to leave.
After a long 40 minutes of maths, it was time to get to the second lesson, which was biology, Emily Rose from her seat, packed her things into her bag, and darted out of the class. She never wanted to go to maths again. Not after what happened.
'This is just a joke, I'm better than her, I'm the pretty one, the smart one, the funny one, the popular one, no newbie is gunna get me down' Emily thought to herself, and throughout the day she kept telling herself that. It did help a lot, especially when Lacey was acting all innocent towards Kris...
The rest of the day was pretty boring, nothing interesting happened, a couple of fights broke out, but that was what school life was like, and it was between the year 7s, nothing of interest to Emily. She got on her usual bus, showed the driver her pass and sat down. Megan was off galavanting with Lacey. Emily was a little heart broken as Megan always seemed to be with her. But Emily knew that deep down she and Megan were the inseparable besties, no one could interfere with their friendship.
