I just started reading book 11, and it is completely different than 1-10. In 1-10 there was this underlying sense of freedom, since they were trying to stop a war. There was open violence, but nothing like this. In Pantala, there's this sense of oppression. It feels like I'm back in the first book of The Red Queen! Silkwings are basically dirt, and every HiveWing except for Cricket is as mean as an over-glorified pompous Icewing (except somehow worse).
Sorry, I just felt the need to say that, since the friend that I usually Fanwing out with is on book 4. And is also currently halfway across the country... Just OOF! 😣
