Prologue
In the safety of his palace, Ra's al Ghul grins as he looks out over the balcony. The world was falling to pieces: countries fighting each other, the environment and oceans being polluted by the species that are overpopulating it, criminals running free of punishment...
He chuckles to himself. He has planned this perfectly. Using all the conflicts as a distraction will be a great asset. Even with the Detective still prowling Gotham, Ra's smiles knowingly. He has a plan for that too. He knows the man he took in some time ago... Ra's frowns, what was his name? Ah, yes, Bane. Ra's knows this man is a true match for the Detective, and even if Bruce somehow does manage to defeat Bane, it would provide the distraction needed for the Cleanse.
Ra's shudders with excitement. Everything is falling into place. He laughs. No one can stop him now.
