Hank slowly stepped up after our run in with Gavin. He looks back at the two of you.

"I'm sure you can get used to him again. That dick's pretty easy to ignore once you get the hang of it." He turns back and slumps into his desk. The leather rolley chair creaks with him.

Your arms are still folded. You scoff to Connor. "Sure, he'll be easy to ignore, but that doesn't mean it won't kill my urge to punch him in the damn face."

Connor's hands are politely conjoined at his waist. He nods in agreement. After the long pause, he breaks his silence. "I'm sure Captain Fowler would love to see you back."

You look over to Fowler's office. He's perched against the metal bars that line the stair case, looking around the room impatiently.

Connor clears his throat behind you. You walk faster to the Captain's office; it was until then that he noticed you. He opened the door, greeting you with a smile.

"Good to see you back at headquarters, detective (Y/N)." He says, rushing to his chair. He lets out a groan as he sinks down into his chair. "I know, I know. Things are still rough. But you still have a job to do. Starting tomorrow, you're back on homicides. So you enjoy the time you have left, Missy."

Knowing how harsh he can be, you decide not to argue. You nod and head back to the door. But Fowler stops you.

"Oh, by the way,"

Your gaze averts to the captain.

"I saw what happened out there with detective Reed. I know he's a handful, but he's one of our best detectives. So just try to ignore him the best you can." Again, he smiles softly as you exit his office.

You return to your desk on the far wall. You can see Hank and Connor a few tables away. Hank's back is turned to you, and Connor is barely visible because of Hank and his computer. But since you have the day off, you have nothing better to do than to talk to them.

Another figure blocks your path. Of course, it's Gavin, the narcissistic prick in the leather jacket.

"Hey pretty lady, don't you have anything better to do than to hang out with an alcoholic and a piece of plastic?" He's trying to look seductive.

"Nope." You push past his shoulders, continuing your strut to Hank and Connor. You hear Gavin scoff behind you.

"H-Well, what about me?"

Your eyebrows furrow when you turn around to face him. "Who said you were better?"

He's almost breathless. You don't hear another word from him. You possess a victory strut on your way to the two boys.

"So you guys combing out cases yet?" Your arms fold as your eyes hop from both of their screens.

"Yeah, and why aren't you?" Hank looks up with his neutral expression.

"Well lucky me, he's letting me lay low until tomorrow. Since I basically have nothing to do for the rest of the day I was just gonna head home."

Connor spins around from his computer. "What? That's no fair. I'd kill to have a day off with you."

Hank turns the other way, pretending to barf. "Gah, cut that shit out Connor. Makes me sick."

You laugh at their bromance. You place your hand over Connor's desk, looking closely at them both. "Don't worry, I'll suffer with you both tomorrow." You back away. Still looking at both of them, you head to the door with your hand in the shape of a telephone. "If you need me, just ring."
