Mornings. Some despise them, some enjoy them. I personally, love mornings. They're full of happiness and love. Mornings are full of song and light. Mornings give us a chance to reflect on our past and our future. They're truly magical.

It's day 43,760. I've spent almost 120 years in this castle. 119 years and I haven't aged mentally or physically. I guess you could say I've been blessed with the gift of immortality but I can assure you, as soon as I step outside the castles barricade reality will hit me like a bitch. More simply, I'll die.

"My Queen?" Spoke a soft voice breaking me out of my thoughts.

I sat myself up on my beautiful bed stretching out my arms with a soft moan.

"I thought we agreed on calling me Elena?" I questioned.

My bedroom door creeped open and in tip-toed a little elf with pointy ears and messy dirty blonde hair.

"So sorry your mag- Elena, but I am so used to calling you by your title." He replyed looking at his feet with red cheeks.

My title as Queen... Ever since the portal opened many years ago the old ruler of the fantasy realm crowned me as the new ruler. I opposed at first but I had no choice but to accept.

"It's alright Finley, I understand." I reassure him. He looks up at me with a wide smile. He's so adourable.

"What would you like for breakfast this fine morning Elena?" He asked tilting his head.

I pressed a single finger against my chin thinking about the many available food options. "How about-" I paused to think again. "Pancakes!" I said enthusiastically.

His eyes lit up. I know he loves pancakes. "As you wish." He responded keeping his cool before turning on his heels.

"Tell Mollie I'll be down to help in a minute!" I yelled at him softly.

He stopped in his tracks and smiled at me letting me know he heard my request.

As soon as he left the room I jumped out of my bed and went straight to my bathroom stripping of my fairy like pyjamas as I walk.

After a quick refreshing shower and a dress change I brushed my damp hair and left my room. When I arrived at the kitchen I can see Mollie whisking the pancake mixture and Finley drooling over the alluring smell.

"Goodmorning." I greeted Mollie with a smile. She returned a similar heartwarming smile.

"Goodmorning Elena. I hope you slept well and Finley over here didn't wake you." She says smiling at Finley.

"Mom!" Interrupts Finley. He crosses his arms and pouts at his mother. I can't help but giggle.

"Now now young man. I'll have less of that thankyou." She says in a stern voice.

"Oh it's quite alright Mollie. Finley didn't wake me." I giggled.

She smiled at me and continued whisking. Finley turned to me and gave me the most adourable smile. This is his way of saying thankyou.

As I look over at Mollie and grab an apron from the wall.

"Let me help you Mollie." I say to her as I finish tying my apron.

"Oh no it's quite alright your majesty. I've become quite the expert in cooking human food." She reassures me before pouring the mixture into a frying pan.

"At least let me cut the strawberries." I beg.

"If you must dear." She giggles.

Yes! I am victorious. I select a wooden chopping board from the holder and set it down infront of myself. As I make my way to the fridge heavy footsteps echo in the hallway. All three of us look in the direction of the noise.
