Well shoot.
What rhymes with island?
Thailand? Is...is that it?
THAT'S IT?!
You know what? Screw it let's just rhyme island with island because why not? I'm so tired and...and I...
Six Hours Later
I woke up, startled, only to realize I had fallen asleep in the theater. I sighed, checking the time. 9:43 PM. I need to get going.
I packed up my things and walked out of the theater, making sure to turn the lights off and lock the door behind me.
I got in the car and got on Twitter, deciding to tell the world about my fabulous nap.
Lin-Manuel Miranda:
I just came to the theater to do some work and ended up taking a six hour nap. Life is good :)
I smiled, content with my tweet and posted it, turning my phone off and heading for the apartment. I feel wide awake and well rested, but now this really sucks because my sleep schedule is going to be really off track.
I shook the thoughts out of my head as I started down the busy New York streets. Within a good few minutes, I finally arrived at home. I picked up my laptop bag and walked inside, smiling when I saw Paisley on the couch, watching a movie. I put down my bag and set my keys on the counter.
"What's up kiddo?" I asked, sitting down next to her and putting my arm around her. She immediately scooted away from me, causing me to frown. Usually when I come watch a movie with Paisley, she literally lays on me and falls asleep while watching the movie.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked again. Paisley continued to ignore me, flipping through channels. "Don't ignore me, Paisley."
Paisley rolled her eyes, shutting the TV off and walking out of the living room and down the hall to her room. I stared at the now blank television screen.
What is wrong with her?!
Ughhhhh pleeeeease let her work it out on her own. Estrogen and I are not friends.
I turned the TV back on, watching reruns of Saturday Night Live. After about fifteen minutes, I heard Paisley's door open, and when she started walking towards the front door I figured that's where I needed to stop her.
"Woah, where do you think you're going?" I asked, noticing Paisley had changed her clothes and was carrying her duffel bag. Paisley turned around and crossed her arms, actually making eye contact with me for the first time tonight. She didn't even talk to me. It was kind of amusing actually.
"Are you just going to stand there and ignore me?" I laughed, noticing Paisley roll her eyes.
"I'm going to Winter's house." Paisley simply stated, referring to one of her friends. I like Winter. She doesn't seem to like me though. I've met her once or twice, and she seemed pretty cool compared to Paisley's other friends who both nearly tried to maul me when they met me (not so much Alex, but Violet...that was scary)
"Alright I'll drive you. Just let me get my keys and-"
"That's okay." Paisley said, and I looked at her like she was crazy because she was crazy if she thinks she's going to take the Subway at night by herself.
