I'm lost without my hero

Where it all started

prologue- you wake up by your alarm hearing the song seeing blind by your best friend, well used to be best friend Niall Horan,( yup, that's right you knew Niall Horan before the fame with One Direction you two were friends since you were born) during his time with one direction things changed, he stopped calling, meeting up with you, and you didn't know why. You were still one of his biggest fans though and still his friend.

warning: this story/chapter contains violence abuse and verbal abuse so if you dont like that then please do not read any further than this.

-start of story-

you get ready to start your day, you first get in the shower listening to one direction oldies little things and in the shower you get memories of you and Niall in high school when everything was just you and him when Niall was just your secret and you didn't have to share his talent with millions of other girls and boys, what Niall didn't know was that he was your hero, your safety net, and secretly even your crush, he was your hero because he stood up for you all the time from the numerous bullies and jerks, he was your safety net because of all the times you would hurt yourself and run away from home due to your abusive parent, he knew you like the back of his hand. But in 2010 things changed, Niall left after freshman year to pursue his dream, you were happy for him on the outside, but on the inside, you were dying, you were losing your one and only friend the person you cared for the most. but you knew you couldn't hold him back, you knew that in the end things would change, your hope for the future seemed to disappear. 

(the whole story is based on the years of freshman year and high school and the future, this is my first story so I hope I did well on it, And I hope it makes sense.)

as you walk downstairs in your clothes you see your dad on the couch with beer in his hand and your mom in the kitchen cooking for your dad, you did your best to quietly exit your house to go to school but on your way down the stairs a small squeek escaped from a stair you stepped on, you stopped and held your breathe as you heard the words " Y/n wtf are you so damn loud in the morning are you trying to get hit,as you see your dad get up from the couch you wanted to run you were a few steps from the door but you knew that if you run now the beating when u get back from school would be worse so you wait it out until you are face to face with the sperm donor you call a dad and as your about to apoligize he lift up his hand and smacks you across your face making your head hit the wall making a small hole in the wall, you dad got even more pissed because there was a hole in the wall so he pulled you up from your hair and got close to your face telling you " look what your dumb ass did now, you made a hole in the damn wall, do you know how much that shit is gonna cost, he says as he throws you to the ground kicking your stomach, he then leaves and as you lay there trying to compose yourself to go to school suddenly the beatings dont stop there, your mom comes to hit you even more and yell at you more as if you didnt feel bad enough. She told you things like, " I can't believe we have you as a daughter, your a disgrace to this family, no one loves you because your fat and ugly, you will never have a bright future because of your stupidity and as she is telling you all these things she keeps hitting you everywhere except your face to cover up the fact that they abuse you all the time.

as you lay there you get up and run into your room you close the door and lock it, you pulled out your phone to text Niall that you don't feel too good today.

Y/n: hey Niall, um I'm not feeling too good today I think I'm gonna stay home.

Niall: what is wrong, do I need to bring chicken soup and some things to make you feel better.

Y/n: no I just think I need time alone that's all. 

as your waiting for Niall to reply you pack a big bag full of clothes and things, you need such as pads tampons and things to shower and things for your hair and your toothbrush you pack your laptop and your phone charger. you go in your closet and find the secret door that hides your stash A.K.A the money you have saved up which wasn't that much it all came up to $400 you knew where you were going, to Niall's garage because his family never looks in there because Niall turned it into a safe place for him and you so that way if anything bad ever happened he knew that if he couldn't find you he knew to always check the garage, he created it the day after you first ran away. 

Niall: ok ill be sure to check in with all your teachers for your homework for the three days ill see you later love you my princess <3 

your stomach did flips as you read that you always loved how he called you his princess

as you were packing you heard things being thrown downstairs and your parents argueing about you and you knew that if you didnt leave now you would suffer from another beating so you quickly lock your door and run to your window as you reach to grab onto the tree your door flings open and you lose your grip on the tree and land right on your back but thankfully your bag caught your fall so the damage from the fall didn't hurt that bad you saw your dad look down on you from the window and within seconds he is gone and you knew you had little time to run away so you get up with your bag and you run as fat as you could and thank go, Niall, doesn't live far but as your running you hear your dads screams coming closer so you hide near the park and decide to lay low by the woods near the park. as you see your dad run past the park a few feet away from you, you were able to breathe for the first time in a while you were so tired from all the beatings and the running that you start to fall asleep with your bag under your head. 

you wake up to feeling cold and seeing stars in the night sky, you realize that you slept for almost the whole entire day, then you remember where you wanted to go and you check your phone to see missed calls from Niall and loads of text messages from him and you immediately get your ass up and run to Niall's house, within a couple of minutes you were outside his house looking up at his window, he had his lights on and he was walking all over his room you run to the garage and set your stuff down in there then you look for a small pebble to throw at his window and he hears it a looks out the window and he is no longer to be seen only to reappear right in front of you bringing you in for a bear hug, you loved his hugs because they were tight and warm and they only time you felt safe and cared for and well protected.
