Finding You

Work was a bore for Tohru on this specific day. Everything went by so agonizingly slow that he just wanted to scream. Maybe it was because he had a task to complete for himself now?

Tohru had learnt quite a lot about L/N since last night. He'd found out about her hobbies, her nationality even her favourite food. What he was most proud of though was finding out places that L/N frequented. He was determined to meet L/N. He was determined to make L/N his.

"Hey Adachi!" Yelled his boss, causing Tohru to flinch. "Stop spacing out and go get me some more coffee!". Dojima practically shoved his mug into Tohru's hands before he could even react.

"Oh, yes sir!" he replied, sprinting off with the mug. This was his daily life since he started his work in Inaba. It was mundane, but he had to admit, it filled up a lot of spare time he would otherwise have if he wasn't working.

Filing his reports for the day, Adachi waved off to Dojima and stepped out on his quest to find his Soulmate.

"Apparently she frequents either the Junes Food Court or Souzai Daigaku at this time..." He mumbled to no one in particular. "The Shopping District's closer so it's better to start there."

Tohru walked past several food stores on his way, making his stomach growl in an attempt to make him buy some food. This would of course be impossible for Tohru as his budget didn't allow him to splurge on food all the time.

"Maybe if I find her though..." he mumbled in a hushed tone, mainly so people wouldn't think he was crazy.

Tohru approached Souzai Daigaku but to his dismay, there was no sign of her. The shopkeeper gave a small wave to the detective, Tohru just gave him his normal goofy smile back.

Turning around to head to Junes, he could see a young woman walking in his direction. He didn't pay much attention until he could see her better.

It was her.

It was L/N F/N

Tohru stood in awe as the woman walked closer and closer to him. She was so close that he could reach out and touch her. He could feel his pulse quickening as he noticed the gentle smile that was on her face and her soft eyes looking ahead of her.

L/N noticed the man staring at her and walked up to him.

"Hey, mister?" She spoke softly. "Are you okay? Only you look like you're, lost?" L/N tilted her head at the strange man. She could've sworn she had seen his face recently, but she couldn't recall where.

"Oh! Oh no, I'm fine" Tohru laughed through his teeth. He wasn't fine at all, not since L/N showed up. L/N had flooded his empty soul with emotions, but he couldn't pinpoint what these emotions were.

"Ah! Since you're here, are you trying to buy a Super Croquette too!?" her eyes sparkled. Tohru bit his lip to hide his smile from the happiness radiating from this woman.

"Um, yeah! That's why I'm here!" Tohru smiled, he knew this place well enough to know that a Super Croquette was hard to get, his mouth watered at the thought of trying one, especially if he was going to eat with L/N.

"Since I know the shopkeeper personally, I think I can pull some ropes to get us some!" L/N chimed as she approached the till, purse in hand.

Tohru stood from the street watching her have a friendly conversation with the shopkeeper until eventually L/N turned around with two Super Croquettes in hand.

"Hey Mister! Why are you over there still!?" L/N called out. "Join me over here otherwise I'll get lonely" laughing at her own attempt of sarcasm, though Tohru applied to her joking demand and sat next to her.

"You don't need to keep calling me 'Mister' by the way, it makes me feel old" Tohru stated, scratching the back of his head.

"Oh, then what should I call you, 'Mister'?" L/N teased, holding the croquette meant for Tohru away from him until he replied.

Tohru stood up and formally bowed, trying to leave a good first impression. "My name is Adachi Tohru, though I don't mind you calling me Adachi. Adachi-san makes me feel old" He could feel heat rising to his face after speaking the last part of the sentence. He was forgoing formalities to try and speed things up between them.

"Well, it's nice to meet you Adachi. I'm L/N F/N and I don't mind if you call me L/N either!" she smiled, causing Tohru to smile back.

"Now then, Let's Eat!"
