The Light In Our Life (Hiccstrid) (Wattys 2014)

Chapter 1

Astrid's POV

I was sleeping peacefully then at around 7:30pm Toothless starts licking me like crazy

"Toothless can you please stop" I say as quietly as possible trying to not wake up hiccup. Now that I was already awake I decided to go and make some bacon and eggs for breakfast about half a hour later Hiccup comes into the kitchen as soon as he walked in I ran straight into the bathroom and threw up for about five minutes

"Astrid are you alright?" Asks Hiccup worried

"I'm sure I'll be fine" I said but as soon as I said that I started throwing up again. I started throwing up every five minutes it was exhausting

"I'll be back hopefully you get better soon I don't you to be sick on our wedding day" said Hiccup then he left and went to do some chief things.

Hiccup and I were engaged which I was very excited for our wedding day but I was also so nervous. Half a hour later Hiccups Mum Valka came over.

"Hello Astrid, Hiccup tells me your not feeling well" says Valka

"Yea every five minutes I've been throwing up" as soon as I said that I rushed to the bathroom and threw up constantly

"Hmm" Valka thought

"Astrid honey could you please lay on your back for me?" Asked Valka

"Umm yeah sure" I say. As I lay on my back Valka rubs her hands on my belly. She gently rubs around her hands on my belly from side to side it felt really ticklish.

"Oh, It can not be" whispered Valka in shock

"What? What's going on?" I ask in panic

"Ummm Astrid honey your pregnant" says Valka

I stand there in shock, just the thought of having a child grow inside me was scary but beautiful. I was just so I'm shock what will Hiccup say?

"Are you serious?" I ask

Valka nods her head slightly and I am in tears.

"Hey Astrid I'm home, oh hi mum" says Hiccup all happily and cheerfully as he walks through the door. "Astrid what's wrong?" Asks Hiccup he can tell I was crying

"You may need to sit down for this" I say

"Oh,um ok" says Hiccup as we both sit in a chair I hold Hiccups hand and say

"Hiccup, I'm pregnant" I say so nervously and in shock

I can see the shock look on Hiccups face, all I want to know is what he's thinking

Hiccups POV

All this news has just come out so fast, I am really excited but also really scared,will I be good father material but I am here to help Astrid every step of the way

"Hiccup please, say something" says Astrid

"I...I'm really excited" I say giving Astrid a hug

"I am going to be with you and support you every step of the way and I love you so much and our baby" I say

"I love you to Astrid says as we both hug and kiss

This was my first book so please don't diss. Please read my review for HTTYD2 and continue to read this book. I don't know how frequently I will update tho. My chapters will all most likely be small because I'm really bad at detailing
