Keith x Reader (One-shots and preferences)

Childhood Friends

AN: This will probably be cheesy as hell, but you know what? Heck it!

You and Keith had meet when your parents had a get together with Keith's Dad. While they were doing whatever adults do, you and Keith hung outside in his front yard.

You were both shy, so you guys weren't exactly the most "social" when you first met. But once you got used to Keith, you started becoming more social around him. Emphasize on "him", if you weren't with Keith, you were like a snapping turtle. You liked staying in your shell and anyone who tried to push you beyond your limits, you would snap at.

You were both really good friends but..something happened.

Something very unfortunate actually...

You Mom had picked up a phone call that she thought was one of her friends. Her (Y/S/T) face went pale. Her eyes started to water and she held her hand up to her mouth. Tor Dad walked up to her and asked her what had happened.

You heard your mother whisper something to your father. His eyes widened and he froze, he looked at you and back at your mother.

Eventually, you Dad made his way to you and placed his hand on your shoulder and broke the news to you.

Keith's Dad had passed away.

You sprinted out of your house and towards Keith's home. When you made it you walked inside and found him in his room, crying.

You had never seen Keith cry before so this was certainly a shock.
You walked up to him and sat beside him. He was hugging his knees that were scraped and bruised.
You wrapped your arms around him. You started strait ahead as Keith let all of his tears fall from his now pink puffy eyes.

He didn't have any parents now. His mom left for unknown reasons and now his dad was gone. Just gone, like the flick of a light.

Years later and you and Keith were apart of the Garrison. Keith was closed off while you were you more antisocial but still had a few friends.

Even though you had made amazing friends at that school, none of them would compare to Keith. Keith and you were like two peas in a pod.  Sometime you would even go as far to say soulmates.

Keith didn't make any friends at that school, you were his only friends that he had ever made. That was until he met a certain someone...

Takashi Shirogane, or Shiro for short.

Shiro was a tall man with broad shoulders and black hair with and undercut. He had a tuff of black bangs hanging in front of his face.

Shiro would not only talk to Keith, but guided him, helped him through thick and thin. He was like a new father figure to him. Keith introduced you to him once, you had to admit, Shiro was quit handsome.

One day, Keith had gotten into a bad fight with this one kid in his class. They were both sent to the principal and Shiro was their. You sat next to Keith trying to comfort him while giving the other kid death glares. When Shiro left the principals room you expected some kind of lecture from him.

But instead he responded with a soft "Hey."

"Look, I know I messed up. You should just send me back to the home already. This place isn't for me." Keith said.

"Keith, you can do this. I will never give up on you. But more importantly, you can't give up on yourself." Shiro responded.

Keith looked up at Shiro a bit shocked at his response. But that very response stuck with Keith for the rest of his life.
