Chapter 19: Mrs. Malfoy

Start from the beginning

"Oh totally, real charmer he is." Ginny heard a voice behind her, she turned around to see her brother scoffing at the sight. Ginny stood up, ignoring Blaise's pleads for her to ignore him.

"Irrelevance is talking, now aren't you?" Ginny said, walking toward her brother. Ron stood up, looking down at his sister.

"Irrelevance? Your boyfriend must be rubbing off on you." He scoffed, laughing at her. "I wonder what else he has taught you." He smirked.

"You know what, Ron? Why don't you learn to stop being an incompetent arse? The war is over! The battle of who is the better house is completely irrelevant." Ginny shouted, her eyes began to well up. "Why can't you be like George.... Or, or Fred! All they wanted was for me to be happy!" She continued, she felt a hand caress hers. "I'm happy with Blaise! And, yes, I'm aware that I should've told Harry earlier, but guess what! I didn't know that I was going to fall in love with him." Gasps were heard from around the room. "And I believe you owe, both Hermione and I an apology! Hermione is finally happy; she's actually found someone who loves her just as much as she loves them. Just- just leave us alone." Ginny yelled, running out of the room as tears caressed her cheeks.

"Ginny."

They entered the store, all heads snapped to them. Hermione's eyes looked around the room, to find the woman who was willing to give her a chance. Her eyes met his mothers, a small smile was given to them both. Draco's breathing hitched once he saw his mother, Hermione looked at him and gave his hand a squeeze – telling him that all will be well. He smiled at Hermione and began walking toward his mother.

"Draco!" His mother smiled, giving her son a hug. Draco embraced his mother into a long-awaited hug and smiled. He pulled back and took a step toward Hermione.

"Mother, this is Hermione Granger. My girlfriend." Hermione's heart fluttered at what she heard.

"Mrs. Malfoy, it's a pleasure to finally meet you." Hermione smiled, shaking the woman's hand.

"The pleasure is all mine, Miss Granger. And please, call me Narcissa." She smiled, signalling for the two to take a seat. Draco entered first, sitting next to the window as Hermione sat next to him – his mother in front of the pair.

They sat in silence as they all began reading the menu.

"The coffee here is quite splendid, if I must say so. And I'm sure Draco has told you how much he likes his coffee." Narcissa smiled at Hermione, she giggled.

"He hasn't told me, but living with him – you pick up a few of his preferences... Especially how he must have his toast with jam, butter and sugar in the morning." Hermione smiled looking over at her boyfriend, he chuckled and stared at her.

"At least I don't sleep with a book in my hand every night." He smirked at her, she rolled her eyes.

"I get tired. Don't blame a witch for wanting to learn." Draco and Hermione stared at each other with smiles caressing their lips. Narcissa just stared at the pair with such awe, they are in love, she thought.

"Draco, I must say. You most definitely know how to pick a lady." His mother smirked, drinking the coffee the waitress had brought them. Hermione's cheeks flushed.

"I do, don't I?" He replied, sending his mother a smile.

"So, I presume you two have finally decided to come out into the open with your relationship. How did Blaise react?" Draco's mother asked. She and Draco have always been close; he would always tell her about the things his father wouldn't quite comprehend. Especially about the feelings he had for a certain, Gryffindor muggle-born in fourth year.

"Blaise and Ginny were the ones who actually wanted us to get together... They sort of, pushed it." Draco replied, staring at his mother. She smirked.

"That Blaise had always had an eye for love... And Ginny, is it? Is she not Arthur Weasley's daughter?" Draco nodded. Hermione smiled at her.

"I must ask, Mrs. Malfoy. Were you not... upset that Draco had befriended me?" Hermione asked, it was merely just a thought – yet, being a Gryffindor, her bravery took over.

"I was surprised, but definitely not upset... After the war, Draco, his father and I had decided it was time for a change. Our opinion and thoughts on Muggle-borns, such as yourself, has changed drastically. As long as Draco is happy, and you are a bright, and caring young witch – I am most certainly happy." Hermione smiled as she felt Draco's hand find her thigh.

"Guess we got the approval! You should become a Malfoy!" Draco smirked with obvious sarcasm. Hermione nearly choked on her coffee, and so did Narcissa.

"Draco!" Hermione warned with a giggle. Narcissa simply just smirked.

"I was unaware that marriage was on the table." She said, continuing to smirk at the two. Hermione's eyes grew, whilst Draco's smirk grew.

"It isn't."

"It's a definite."

They said in unison, Narcissa just laughed softly at the two.

"Oh, goodness Draco." She managed to say, as Draco stared at his girlfriend.

The waitress came up to Narcissa, as she knew her and began talking. Hermione turned to Draco – who was still staring at her.

"Hermione Granger? Hm." He said with a smirk. She knitted her eyebrows together in confusion. "I prefer Hermione Malfoy." He smirked. Placing a kiss on the brunette's lips.

"I love you." She whispered to him. He flushed red.

"I love you too." Little did they know, that Narcissa had stopped talking to the waitress and heard the word exchange between the two. She couldn't help but smile to herself, thinking about how perfect they were for each other.
