We've been best friends since 2nd grade, when a boy was bullying me and you punched him in the nose. We do everything together, but are really complete opposites. We kissed once in the 4th grade, as a dare and vowed never to do it again. I've been with you, through every girlfriend, through the influence of drugs, and just staying with you no matter what. We've never had a fight. Summer just started and we're at the beach with friends, your oversized hoodie hanging on my shoulders, myself perched on your leg. Your recent ex sits across the fire, glaring at me. All of our friends sit around, passing around beer and cigarettes. You take one of each, popping the top to the bottle and give it to me, sticking the lit smoke in your mouth. (I'm Hayley. 5'1, brown hair, hazel eyes that change color with mood, volleyball player.
