MYSTIC FALLS HIGH SCHOOL:
Bonnie Bennett has always been a little bit overprotective of her friends. After her mother abandoned her when she was pretty young, Bonnie's fear of losing anyone else she loved consumed her and as she got older it morphed into an overprotectiveness of those she cared about.
That being said, something changed in her attitude towards Sam and Stefan dating. Bonnie hadn't told him why yet, she was just worried in general.
"I'm not saying don't date the guy. I'm just saying take it slow" Bonnie tried to act casual about it but he could see the hint of worry in her dark eyes. "Why? You helped them set us up" Sam reminded the Bennett girl.
"Now I'm just saying take it slow. You've only ever dated one person in your entire life and that was a few years of dating too. I just think you should take more time before truly diving into a fully committed relationship. Besides, you don't need a man to make you happy, Pooh Bear" Sam smiled at the nickname she had given him when they were younger.
"Bonnie, I'm happy with Stefan and I'm grateful that you care so much," Sam told her with a smile on his face, one that Bonnie couldn't help but reciprocate. "But you don't need to worry about this, I promise you that Stefan's a good guy. I feel drawn to Stefan in a way that I've never felt towards anyone" Sam told her, which was the truth. He had never felt instantly drawn to someone as he did with Stefan.
"I'm happy for you and I'm sorry for being overprotective about this" Bonnie wasn't truthfully sorry, she had gotten weird vibes from Stefan a while ago and didn't know how to tell Sam without being made fun of or not taken seriously.
Bonnie caught Stefan walking over to the two from the corner of her eye, stiffening slightly as he walked over to them. "Hey," Sam greeted after noticing Stefan also, beaming with glee.
"Good morning Sam, good morning Bonnie" He greeted both of them. Bonnie appeared to be quite uncomfortable. "Hey, um, I gotta find Caroline. She's not answering her phone. So I'll see you guys later" Bonnie said before leaving the two behind, making the male Gilbert sigh at how weird the Bennett girl was being over Stefan.
"She doesn't like me very much, does she?" Stefan questioned as they both saw Bonnie practically sprint away from them in avoidance.
"She's just a bit...protective. You should've seen her interrogate Elena's former boyfriend when they started dating even though she had known him her entire life too" Sam couldn't help but laugh at the memory of Bonnie giving Matt a talk when he and Elena had started dating.
