What if I stayed ?

Chapter 3

After hearing that Hayal was shocked " what are you talking about ? " she asked.

" Your grandfather is dead. Your mother admitted that she killed him in the police station "

" what ? No.... No... that's not true. This is just a nightmare. No... Mom..." She is unconscious. Yusuf screams " Hayal... somebody call the doctor now. " Doctors came " can you all leave please ? " a nurse asked.

Yusuf was shocked about what police said. He called a friend that works on police station " Hi , Ajax. It's Yusuf. "

" Oh, Yusuf. It has been a long time. How're you man ? "

" I'm fine , thanks for asking. Listen man I need to ask something. Can you look about what happened in the family Walker ? "

" Man, you know that I'm not supposed to tell about our cases. But I'll see what I can do. I'll call you back. "

" thank you man so much. " 

Jimmy comes running to Yusuf " where is Hayal ? Is she ok ? " he asks.

" She'll be fine. " Yusuf answers.

Jimmy starts crying " why did all this happen ? I almost lost her. And now she lost everyone, the police took her mom, her grandpa died. She always was afraid to be alone."

" she won't. We'll be here for her. Are you from her family ? "

" I'm her friend. Hayal lived only with her mom and her grandpa. Her dad left them when Hayal was a little, her mom and she didn't have where to live so they had to live with her psychopath grandfather. Hayal's life was different from other kids, happiness and freedom seemed forbidden to happen to her. I tried to help, I tried to make her happy, but I couldn't. Look what a friend , I should have done more. If I had lost her today I wouldn't forgive myself forever. "

" I'm sure that you have done everything that you could to help her. It wasn't your fault. We have to be strong for Hayal, she needs us. I'm really sorry that she suffered this much. "

" Hayal doesn't like when people feel sorry about her. It makes her feel miserable."

The doctors come out from Hayal's room. " Doctor is my Friend fine ? " Jimmy asked.

" She collapsed because of vasovagal syncope. But she'll be fine , don't worry. Ms. Hayal needs a lot of care and love right now because she is going through a tough time. Which one is from her family ? "

" None, we're her friends. She was living with her mother and grandfather. Other members of family live abroad. " Jimmy answered.

" I see. She will be sleeping, we gave her tranquilizer , we'll check her again. "

" Thank you. "

" You can go too Yusuf, I'll be here all night don't worry. " said Jimmy.

" I'll stay here too. " said Yusuf.

" Ok. Can I ask about how did you end up here. I mean you and Hayal aren't close. "

" Hayal forgot something at my house last night..." Yusuf stops talking because Jimmy gives him a mysterious look.

" I mean at my ceremony happened an incident between Hayal and her grandfather, Hayal collapsed, then I took care of her until she woke up and drove her home. But she forgot something at my house so I came to give her that, then this happened. I really feel so bad. I feel like I shouldn't have let her go last night. Maybe none of those things would happen. But she was insisting so much. "

" You can't stop her. She is like that , when she decides to do something , no one can change her mind. I feel so bad too. I didn't text her today. I thought she stayed last night so late, so she'll be sleeping. But when I heard what happened I was completely out of my mind. "
